Wood screw size
Hi
Found a servo screw at www.microfasteners.com with a size of #2 x 9/16. My question is what size is the first one the other is 14.28mm for me here in Sweden. I have looked at www.sizes.com and there is no input on the subject.

The outer thread diameter for a #2 sheet metal screw is approximately 2.2 mm. The screws from Microfasteners you're looking at for servo mounting are the best I've found. I use them almost exclusively.
I would use a 1.5 mm drill bit for the pilot hole.
Hope this helps!

Thanks
It's the servo mounting screws that I'm been looking at but for me that uses metric system it's hard to find information on ex. 4-40 the last number being how many threads per inch but the first is it 4 inches or .4 or .04. I don't know.

These are American standard sizes for machine screws:
Diameter of Number sized threads is calculated as:
0.060 + (0.013*N) N=Size number of screw
0 = 0.060 diameter in inches
1 = 0.073
2 = 0.086
3 = 0.099
4 = 0.112
5 = 0.125
6 = 0.138
8 = 0.164
10 = 0.190
12 = 0.216
So a 4-40 screw would be .112 inches in diameter with 40 threads per inch.

The same applize for wood screw also or ?
#2 x 9/16 would be 0.06+(0.013*2)= 0.086 inch = 2.2 mm
If this information is correct I thank you

I've just checked my hardware stash. A #4 wood screw measured .112 inch and a #2 wood screw measured .086 inch. So at least for these two sizes, they seem to be the same diameter as machine screws.
