I know of 3 different ways to ease the installation of pneumatic tubing to other fittings in the system. 1 - Oil 2 - Soapy water and 3 - Heat applied to the tubing.
Which would be the best to result in an air tight installation.
Also while were on the subject, how high of air pressure should the system be able to hold.
I can only get up to about 60 lbs in the system but my old Robart Air Pump is about shot. I was hoping to get it up to 100 but maybe not.
The size of the supply tank (rather small) should not limit the lbs per sq. inch the system can initially be pumped up to could it?

I am always just able to push the tubing onto the fittings. Takes a little work but I do not have any leaks. Your system should take 100 pounds with out any issues. If your pump is going south that may be the issue. If not get some soapy water and start looking for the leak. Good Luck, Dave

David, a little work???? I use a lot of very nasty words and a lot of effort but I get the tubes on sooner or later. I pump them up to 100 pounds. I often let them sit over night at full pressure then place the plane upside down and see how many times I can get them to activate. It's a trust issue for me.

There ain't no freekin' way my poor old diabetic pinkies are gonna be able to do this without some lube of some kind. If I can't use any "tricks" then I guess what I'd best do is con the Boy into helping me out. Thanks for your answers guys.

I think the issue with lubing the ends is that if it makes it easier to slide them on, it could make it easier to blow off under pressure. I could be wrong, but it kinda makes sense. Good Luck, Dave

I use an old Byron orange-handle pick that used to come in their kits. I heat it up on a monocoat iron, push it into the end of the tubing for a count of 5, and then push it over the nipple. After it cools I always safety wire all the connections. Never had one blow off.

I have used a product called rubber ease and I used to get it at my local NAPA store, good stuff. It lubes then it drys and goes away?? Last time I looked for some all they had it in was gallon jugs, maybe it was just at that moment in time? I never installed enough gears for customers to be having a gallon of the stuff on hand so I started doing what David does and just using brute force, and needle nose pliers!!

I use Vaseline on the fittings. It lubricates and seals.

if you read the directions, is says not to use any heat,water or oil, or anything else., just pust them on

Yeh, wel I pust and I pust and I pust some more. Then I went and got "the boy" and he pust 'em on. No leaks as of yet!

I just rub the end in my hair. Enough oil to let it slide on.
