Default Fuel Tank Location

Do I have to worry about my fuel tank location with a pumped engine?

Thanks all

Just for clarity, which 'pumped' engine? You may know this, but a pressurized fuel system with a regulator (like a YS) is different from an engine with a pump (like an OS).

Only problems I have run into is if the regulator has a problem. I run both the YS and OS, I like the YS system better but my OS pumpers work very well too.

If the pump were to fail, would I loose all fuel to the engine, and my engine die??

Thanks

Yes on the OS but it's nothing I have ever had happen. The YS is a pressurized system so if you broke a line, either pressure to the tank or to the carb that would be a maybe?? I really don't know, it's never happened with either engine. Because the OS pump sucks the fuel it's already an open system with no pressure to the tank, the tank is vented. If you go into the glow engine forum you can ask a service rep and get a for sure answer. I have never lost a line or had a diaphragm problem with a YS while flying. It has been after i came home then the next time I went out to fly the diaphragm gave up it's life. Easy to fix, just two little screws and it warns you on the ground. There is no perfect system but these are two of the good ones!!
