Default Bridi UFO Kit

I am looking for any help finding a Bridi UFO kit.
I always wanted to build and fly this plane back in the late 70’s, but I just never did.
Even though I had a kit and gave it away as my interests changed.
Now after all these year I just want this plane.
I hope someone can help me find one.

Rog,

Have had the RCM plans since back them, will be my last resort if I have to scratch build one.
I just really prefer a FG fuse and foam wing plane, just like the original.

I’d even be interested in just a fuse.

Blue Jay Kits handles a lot of the old Bridi designs but I didn't see anything with a glass fuse in there line up. If you go to there site take a look at the Dirty Birdy kit. I have one on my bench right now, very good kit. Kind of a UFO looking plane and the kit is priced right!!

Gray Beard,

You’ll be very happy with the Dirty Birdy, I built quite a few in the 70’s.
I still have one hanging up that’s unflyable due to its age.
I’m afraid of the integrity of the airframe after so many years.

The Dirty Birdy was the predecessor to the UFO.
At the time I just used the anhedral stab mod from the UFO on the last one of my DB’s, instead of build a UFO.

Joe Bridi designed some great planes.

Thanks for the info Paul, I have always been a fan of anything Bridi!! I think I'm the number one fan of the Kaos. I ran into a stop and hold on my build so I pulled out a very old Bridi Kaos 80 incher and it's almost ready to fly again. The DB is a new build to replace my old 60 Kaos that I lost this year. When I went to the BJ site the DB looked like a twin to the UFO. Every now and then I run into some Bridi designs that I didn't know were his, that's always fun, the man was one of the greats!!!!

Hey Don,

Thanks’ for the offer Buddy. One of the other Guys shot over a PDF of the plan. I have an original paper plan from back in the day somewhere also.

There is another plan that I’d like to get, I’ll E-mail you.

What I really want is a Kit with the Fiberglass Fuse. I’ll just keep looking and waiting until I can get my hands on one, Hopefully !

I’ll post back here when I finally find and acquire one, If I do.

Thanks to All for the leads Guys !

It looks like I’m still looking for one.

I had one that was sold to me but never arrived!

But that’s another story I’m dealing with.

Another idea, would be to send the PDF to one of the laser cutters and have the kit cut. The only real P I A with that is the canopy.

Doug,

I agree, getting the canopy just right would be the issue.

I’m a little old school still, I like to choose my own wood and make changes as I see fit, plus I just bought a new saw.

Even if I could find a damaged/crashed fuse that would be fine as long as most of it is there to use as a plug.

David,

That’s what happens when you get to excited and think everyone is honest and honorable.

I’m out quite some money.
