RE: SAITO 82 power of 9 pound hog bipe!
The Hog bipe really doesn't have a lot of drag or at least mine doesn't. It does have some, but it's negligible and has never caused any problems.
Now I had a 25% Pitts Special once and that was a whole different ball game. I also flew a Super Stearman and it had some drag. When you cut the throttle it was like throwing out an anchor. That thing started hunting the ground like a simonized brick.

LargeScale88: Bipes may have more drag...but they also have more lift. It's all part of the process.
I had a friend who bought a smaller motorcycle than I had. He said he thought it "...would be enough for him". In two weeks he was sorry because he got used to the bike, enjoyed riding it, but really felt it's limitations in power. NOW WHAT!??!! Now he had to sell it and start over.
I guarentee if you put the Saito 1.00 on your Hog, you won't take it off. Take care to break it in correctly and care well for the engine as time goes on and that motor will serve you well in what ever plane you use it in.
Thanks for the compliment about the covering job... The second Bipe was done in three layers. The third layer was a pain to cut it just right. Once it was in place I really liked it and she draws comments at the field.

What covering do you think works best? I just bought a saito 1.00. Hopefully, it will work out. I have a sport plane that I'm just finishing up. Any comments on brands of covering? I'm new to the plastic film covering, I like the koverall, and dope. Any Comments???
Thanks
