Hobby King DC Watt Meter Manual / Instructions and Sample Wiring

    Hi,

Please find attached pictures and sample wiring for the Hobby King Turnigy Multi-function DC Watt Meter. I found their instruction very cryptic and difficult to understand and had to learn to use it by trial and error.

Once you understand the meter it is a very useful tool and allows you to test batteries, ESC/BEC, prop size and motors and to analyze the best combinations for your use.

I hope the attached diocument will help someone else to get started in using the meter. If it does, please let me know.

If you have suggestions on how to make the document better, also please let me know - all suggestions are welcome.

    Fly4Fun,

    Wayne Miller

RE: Hobby King DC Watt Meter Manual / Instructions and Sample Wiring

    Hi,

I just found another item at the HK site that may allow me to get prop RPM readings while testing with the watt meter. I'm hoping to get both units to work together. The link is here:
    http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=10335

I've ordered one to see how it works - if you have any experience with the unit, would you please let me know? Thanks.

    Wayne

    Hi,

I've added pictures in the attached PDF to show the display screens so everyone can get an idea of what it does. Hope this helps.

The attached PDF explanation is very good if you want to know how to operate the Turnigy Multi Function Watt meter. It is a pity that the user needs to be very careful with the connections and that as a precaution the unit needs to beopened and the joints resoldered. However once that is done the unit is as good as the Watts Up Meter.

Thanks for the PDF Wayne - display screens are very good too. The unit I have seems to be very similar, but badged differently from a UK supplier.

Just wondering if anyone here has successfully tried to drive servos rather than connect to an ESC using this unit.

Thank you Wayne for the PDF! I just ordered one of these. Hopefully I'll win the quality control crap shoot and get a good one.

    Hi,
I'm looking for schematic diagram for Turnigy Aerodrive XP WattMeter. If anybody have it, I would be glad to receive it.
    Thanks.
