HELP!! Problem Mounting Tailwheel Assembly... CUB
Hello All,
Well here I am thinking I'm not such a newb anymore, but this problem of mine has me right back in the stumped when it comes to RC category. Anyhow lets get to it. My Hangar 9 size 40 ARF Cub stock tailwheel broke off the other day. I don't know why because my landing didn't seem unusually rough.. Anyway instead of replacing it with another stock assembly I decided to go with the .40-.90 size semi-scale spring loaded tailwheel assembly from Du-Bro. I got thought this assembly would be much more scale of course and a lot more durable, not to mention straight forward in installation. Well it is for most, but I ran into several problems..
1) The bracket that mounts to the rudder for the springs is too large to grip the bottom of the rudder.
2) Even if it could grip the rudder, the rudder mounting bracket for the springs wouldn't be in the right place because the rudders control horns are in the position it is supposed to be mounted.
3) The bottom rigging (I know many don't even care about it and tear it off anyway..) screw to the fuselage is in the way of the tailwheels main spare bolting area that bolts to the bottom of the fuselage.
I'm sure many of you are familiar with this tailwheel assembly because it is a popular setup. I will post pictures tomorrow or maybe a bit later tonight. Hopefully the above descriptions give you an idea or mental image of my problem if not then refer to the pictures when I post them to understand my problem/frustration.. Lets hear them solutions guys, help me out please!!!
Thanks.

Im not sure I understand the issues other than the rudder dual horn being to large. You could slip some lite ply on each side of the bottom of the rudder to take up the space being sure to keep the bracket centered on the rudder. I know your plane is covered already so you could cover the thin add'l ply pieces so they wouoldn't be seen
