Default What side is

Too windy to fly, so I am building today!
So boats have their Starboard (right side), Port (left side) Bow (front) and Stern (back). Do planes have this also? I have had conflicting referrals to the right side of the plane, is it just perspective, if you are looking at the plane front on, then the right side is your right, or is it always front to back, or back to front, confusing especially when the plans refer to the “right side of the plane, is it from inside, tail to nose, or as you are looking at it from inside, nose to tail.

The reference is as if you were setting in the cockpit looking forward, like setting in your car .

I've seen both terminologies used. Depends on your back ground

In the navy, our planes had port and starboard

But in the case of "Right" and "Left", they are always assumed to be from the pilot's point of view
