Default Plastic Prop Spinners - Keep from Scratching

Howdy..........
Looking to build a couple of kits that will have 2"&3"Spinners - probably red or yellow. My past experience withGP or Dubro or whoever is that once my starter cone touches that plastic. OHHHHHH - the pain!

I usually will flip the prop to decompress the engine, but that doesn't always keep the starter cone from free-spinning.

Is there a way to protect the spinner so that it doesn't scratch?

Hand start or buy aluminum. It's just the nature of the beast. I started buying spinners made by Magnum and the cost isn't a lot more then plastic.

There are some inserts for starters that are easier on plastic spinners.
