Default Du Bro Transmitter Tray

Du Bro used to make a red anodized aluminum transmitter tray.

Does anyone have one ? I would like to get some pictures of it if possible.

Thanks,
Craig H.

I don't remember the name of the company, but there is a guy making some pretty elaborate transmitter trays and selling them. They look nice if you want something that big and bulky to hold your transmitter with. I personally like a basic neck strap, but everyone is different. Seach transmitter trays in the radio forum and you may come up with it.

I've seen those. They have a stability problem because there is a pivot point at the bottom. I seem to remember that the Du Bro tray did not have that problem, and I'd like to see how it was made.

The transmitter tray at Vario Helicopter is top notch for JR radios.

Sorry, any tray with a strap does not provide the same support as a solid harness.

Anyone got a Du Bro ???

Craig,
I have a Dubro. I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow and post them. Is there any certain area that you would like to see a closeup shot?

Dude, you are a saint !

I would like to see the whole thing in as much detail as possible. Perhaps one of the whole thing then some close-ups of the straps, Tx tray, where the straps join the tray and anything else that looks interesting.

Many thanks,
Craig.

PS: You can email the originals to me, I don't care how many megabytes they are. Send them to: [email protected]

That's the same one mentioned earlier. If you look at it, it comes to a point where the straps join the tray. This allows a certain amount of rotation (side to side) which is a problem for me.

Make a solid harness of aluminum flat bar or steel banding straps. Banding straps come in various widths. Customize it to make a shoulder mount.

Craig:
Here is the first page of 7 of drawing/instructions for a transmitter tray that uses a neckstrap connected to two points on the tray. I have not noticed any side-to-side rotation of the tray, in fact it feels like a stable platform from which to operate the transmitter. I works for me, but everybody is different.
I downloaded these instructions from www.rcplanet.com but I can't seem to find them anymore. I can email my copy to you if you think this is what you're looking for.

Feihu, I've seen those instructions before, I think they were on the RC Flight Unlimited Website. Anyway, the strap thing does not work for me, I've tried one.

Thanks,
Craig.

Bobby, I got the pictures and tried to email a "Thank You" but your mail is broken for some reason.

Thanks for the pictures. I was able to see the tray to strap joint and now I have some ideas on how to make my own tray. If DuBro still sold these, I'd buy one of theirs, but they don't.

Thanks again,
Craig.

Haven't seen a Dubro tray in years. One of the guys in our club has the Spring Air tray that seems to work extremely well. I tried his just for grins and was impressed. If I ever decide to go to a tray this will be it. Here's the link:

I have some pictures available of the tray you are looking for. I was looking for some replacement screws for it myself. Please e-mail me at [email protected]

Check the URL for my web page. The complete instructions for building the transmitter tray are on there.

Take a look at www.MarkTrent3d.com or at www.robotcombat.com and you will see a solution that is patent pending and in use by the US Navy. It is a very stable unit. It will come as no surprise that it is the way I fly all my planes. Enjoy. Jeff Sandler
