Sadly we lost one of 3 local hobby shops here in Central Alabama. It was a hobby town USA and was not the greatest hobby shop but it did stock quite a lot in the line of RC both Airplanes and Cars. It was one that was really close to me which was really convienient so if I needed a screw or small part I could just run up there and get it, but not any more. The rumor was that because they were in a Walmart shoping center/ strip mall, the people that owned their building wanted to raise their rent to some outrageous price that would have been too much to pay each month. So they just had a going out of business sale an left.

Since I moved here there have been five come and go three were chain stores that were only interested in Pongs and Dungeions & Dragons stuff.

Two were honestly trying but located in pointlessly expensive locations.

For a year now we have a new one which grew out of a pet shop storefront. He is a modeler and I have taught him to fly. Doing very well and I think he will be in it for the long haul. We are supporting him in every way we can.
