I don't know, but the text on one of the boxes seems to say "Hobby King" :) (Or is that "Hobby Kits"?)

Engine in the u- control plane looks to be a Rocket .46 ignition, next to the left a Arden .099 or .19 with a clear plastic tank ,next I can't find ,to the left of the shelf post is a Bantam .19 ,next a Rogers .29. & the next one is a Ohlsson & Rice .60 or a .23 . The rest are too tough for my old eyes & memory but I have had them all at one time & all are ignition. Now I would say 1946 to 1950 . Max H. :)

I agree with Jaka, 1940 to 1942.

Here are some pictures of Reginald Dennys famous hobby shop on Hollywood blvd. of around the same time frame.

Late 40's, ear;y 50's. WWII had to be over before such things became available to us.
Note that the lad does not sport a pony tail, or earrings. Men were men!

Hey Barbikes. Thanks for the picture. My first hobby shop visits were in the 50's. Boy does this bring back memories. The P-47 the boy is holding has US Air Force markings on the wing and fuselage. That would make it after WWII. I'd say very late 40's or the 50's. :)

I have a few contemporary magazines dated 1942 showing the very first P-47 and the model may well have been the prior Republic P-43 Lancer since models of that period where not all that scale.

Here is another one that is very cool, Anybody guess who the young lady was holding her brand new DennyPlane on the front lawn of the RKO studio's?

A Miss Monroe worked for Denny in the post war era. The picture doesn't really look like Francis Jean though.

40s or 50s. I was in Dennys shop in 59 when I first moved to Calif. It was still in operation.

And the Grand Prize a Stale Glazzed donut award goes to Gollywock!

It is indeed Jane Withers a popular and prolific child actor from thirtys into the fortys. Also Geraldine the Plumber from all the Comet Cleanser commercials starting in the sixties and into the seventies.

Here is a shot of that famous hobby shop in 1962 the year it was sold and shut down. In the second photo is a shot of the exact same corner.

As I recall it was a house of suede sometime in the 70s or was that the round building just down the road from it it? I used to live in Panorama City and take the bus to get to Denney's shop, then a couple of twin brothers opened up a hobby shop on Van Neys Blvd.{spelling, been a while} Those were the good old days!

Not 1967. I was there for that and no kid dressed that way.Mid to late1940's I'd guess. I tried to hunt up a Comet A-26 Kit and they listed it as Kit P2 in the 1950's and that is a much earlier (and simpler) box design.

That puts it after 1944 as the A-26 wasn't in service until then and I don't think prototypes were kitted in WWII.
