Glue for Nylon Part ?
Is there any type of glue that is able to bond a nylon part back together ? I broke a nylon hinge for a gear door (it is an offset type) and I’m not sure I’ll be able to find a replacement. Thanks. Bob |
None that I'm aware of. At least none that would last any length of time.

Sounds like a job for BVM Aeropoxy especially if some sort of splint can be fabricated but its not cheap.

I have glued nylon successfully for years with phenol (carbolic acid) I got at a local pharmacy.

The carbolic acid sounds interesting. You could try welding it with a soldering iron. You will need some filler rod of the same material. There are videos online. It will take a bit of practise on something else that is not important.

How about posting a picture of the hinge? You might be surprised with what guys may have just lying around in their workshops. I have some offset hinges but without knowing which one you are dealing with I can't know whether I have one just like it.
