Ole Reliable

I have a set of plans for a 1938 Ole Reliable FF that specify a Top Flight E-40 landing gear. I only have a side view so I don't know the configuration from the top. The gear is held on by rubber bands.

If anyone has any information that would be helpful I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Jim

you may want to post this in the vintagfe and antique forum.top flite had a small line of assecories back in the early seventies but the only landing gear i remember being offered was torrision gear for their scale planes.this sounds like it may be a sheet aluminum gear

Thanks for your response. The landing gear is actually made out of 5/32 piano wire. Unfortunately there is no top view. There is a dimensioned front view which helps a little.

Does the gear mount on a vertical bulkhead or on a horizontal LG plate? Internal or external?

The gear mounts on the outside bottom of the fuselage. There is a back up plate inside the fuselage similar to an RC model but the gear does not go into the inside of the fuselage. The gear is held on with rubber bands.
