EVOLUTION FLYWHEEL REMOVAL???

Hi there, Before I remove the flywheel tommorrow on a evo 45 has anyone done this? I know I can do it but I was wondering the best way that has been found to do so. It appears to be a press fit so I would believe that heat is the ticket. Let me know what you guys do. Thanks

RE: EVOLUTION FLYWHEEL REMOVAL???

It's easy. Just take the flywheel/drive washer off and slip the normal drive washer on.

Woops:)

RE: EVOLUTION FLYWHEEL REMOVAL???

I used a vice on mine--just open the vice up so that the weighted wheel sits on the vice jaws, but the inner drive washer doesn't. THen, using a socket or something that is just smaller in diameter than the silver drive washer, knock it out (by hitting the socket with a hammer). It will fall right out. Makes a difference in engine performance, and mine still idles like a champ!

Yes, it is a press fit. Just do like 2slow said.
