How do I remove primer overspray????

1 Attachment(s)
I have a Lanier Taylorcraft covered in light red 21st century fabric. My two year old son went in my airplane shop and when I was not looking he tried to "help daddy" and picked up a can of 21st century primer and gave my Taylorcraft a quick blast. It is not too bad but there are about maybe 75 spots of primer about the size of a pinhead on the windshield and top of the fuse. How can I get this off without harming the color on the covering??
Thank you!!
Chris

Spray some samples on the same material you're son 'helped you with' but not your airplane.

Having done this you can now begin working your way through the solvents available. I would start with mineral spirits and see if that wont help. It is unlikely to be fast but it wont melt plastic and it will remove a lot more than it is given credit for. Also, don't forget the mild abrasive cleaners, from car polish to silver cleaner to metal polish (not so mild but it is still less likely to remove the spots and what is under it, as lacquer thinner or acetone are almost guaranteed to do ).

Luck to you, its a nice looking plane.

CA debonder will work well, but you must work fast and work in small areas (use a Q-tip). Some paint will come off, but if you work fast and small, it will not be noticable unless there is some sort of gloss coat involved also.

Testing on sample pieces first is always a good idea, as stated earlier.

Try some over spray clay from your auto parts dealer.

I am not sure if you have tried to remove it yet...but get some hand cleaner for painters...its called DL, or limpdor something and comes in a small or large cannister from your local sherwin williams store. I used this stuff as a painter and it might take a bit of rubbing but it is a great paint removal tool.

hope this helps.
