Evo 40 HELP

Hi

I have an evolution 40 engine came with an alpha 40 RTF has 6 gallson throught it,

What is the max rpm that this engien shoudl turn im getting 14 400 on a 10x6 apc is this too much?

I think this is too much because this is a cheap 40 sized engien and i have a feeling it will damage the piston/sleeve

Steven

EDIT: Im also ahve idle issues it wont die once the engein is warm it will idle at 600-800 rpm for about a minute and i ahve no clue as to where the airleak is (yes i ahve checked my linakages and ahve even gon so far as put my fingure over the carb and that didnt work the oring/gasket are still intact)

RE: Evo 40 HELP

Sounds to me like you need an 11-5 prop or an 11-6. You are turning too much for a trainer or regular sport flying.

Take the collar off, turn the low speed needle in, then open it 1 1/4 turns and start tuning from there.

Check this link. Look like your rpm is well within specs. 16.4K max
