need help on wm rambler 30

hi all, I hope someone could help me out with a couple of items in regards to the World Models Rambler 30

The control throws in the instruction sheet cannot be right, they are said to be for general flying at ailerons 13 mm (1/2") up and down, elevator 25 mm (1") up and down, rudder 50 mm (2")left and right. These throws are more severe than several other planes of mine and my friends which are stunt/3d planes.

I do not have confidence that these throws are anywhere near correct. this is a 55" W.S. 30 size plane. I am using a OS surpass 52 4c

And while I am here where could I get the equasion to find CG as I dont trust the instruction?

Thanks Henry

G'day Henry,
All you need to do is set it up as per instructions, on high rate, then set your low rates to 50 or 60% of that, if it is too sensitive on elevator, go to low rate, & the same with ailerons & rudder.
It's nice to be able to switch to a less sensitive rate, if need be. But don't be tempted to add heaps of Exponential, to quiet the plane down, use your Rates, then fine tune with expo, later.
Here is your CG calculator, http://www.palosrc.com/instructors/cg.htm

Thank You Alan, Each day the internet amazes me, It has really made the world larger and smaller at the same time.

I always do what you said with the high and low rates, I mechanically set high rates (at the suggested measurment)with 100% in the radio and reduce the throw (to the suggested measurement) with the radio for low rates.

I can then adjust them to where the plane flies docile/ gentle but I am accustomed to getting a good starting point to adjust from there. The Instructions are saying these are "general flying" throws but they are more like a 3D. I guess I'll have to WING IT

Thanks very much for the cg Calculator. I guess you are always flying inverted from my perpective here. henry LOL

FWIW - The Rambler 30 is a very nice flying plane. I have an OS 48 on mine. The plane is a floater also.

I normally fly mine at about 75% of the "suggested" rates.
