Vortech Spinner fitment problem

I ordered a 2.25" standard Vortech spinner from DB and just received it today. I ordered it to fit my Saito 1.00, custom cut to fit my Xoar 15x6 prop. I'm not sure if it is fitting correctly. First, they didn't send a locknut. When I tighten down the adapter nut, I think it is mostly tightening down on the end of the crankshaft, and only partially so on the prop. This is obviously bad. Also, when I put the spinner on, the supplied bolt is too long to hold the spinner still. I cannot get in touch with Dave Brown because it keeps saying that their phone has been disconnected.

Is there anything I can do myself to rectify this since I cannot seem to get in touch with DB?

Thanks!

Its not uncommon to have to cut the spinner hold down bolt, hope you have a dremmel tool. The other problem you're talking about. I'm not sure I understand. do you mean the nut is bottoming out on the shaft if so can it be fixed by adding a washer?

as mentioned, cut the bolt to the length needed....

and are you still using the original prop nut or just the supplied locknut?? You should use both

Yes, what they have supplied is a threaded Lock Nut.
Use the prop washer and nut supplied with the engine and then this threaded Lock Nut.

Put on the spinner backplate.
Then the prop, prop washer and nut and thighten as usual. Then add the Threaded lock nut and then the spinner cone.
Now thread the spinner bolt through the hole and hand tighten it into the Threaded Nut until it stops. Now measure what's still left showing (say 1cm), remove the bolt and chop off say 1.2 cm.
If you chop of 1cm you'll have proplems tightening the spinner cone as the bolt will be slightly to long.
The threaded Lock Nut will be quite long giving you plenty of thead to tighten into.
