Is there a machinist in the house..?

Ok, I'm frustrated.
On November 17, 2007 I ordered an oversized aluminum spinner cone for my TorqueMaster 90 from Tower Hobbies.

"Backordered, check back in a month.."

Called back around Christmas. "Backordered, check back in a month.."
Repeat this process until you get to.. Now.

I'm tired of waiting. It's been 5 months.
Is anyone willing to fabricate this item for me for a reasonable cost? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXL403&P=7
I have the rubber insert for sizing, and will be happy to mail it to you so you can check it out.

Hell, do a production run of a dozen or so, because Tower sure doesn't have them. [&o]

I can see two major problems with the one you posted, pumbadog. 1- the OP neeeds one for a Torquemaster starter, yours is for a sullivan. 2- The one for the sullivan is almost 5 times the price.
Bosch232, do you know anybody who works in a machine shop? Something like that could be made out of a piece of scrap barstock pretty easily. I don't work in a shop anymore or I'd help you out, I could have made that in about a half hour.
Sorry, I guess this doesn't really help.

And a machinist charges how much per hour plus the price of the stock, and he's tired of waiting already and the Sullivan says fits other brands.

Hi Bosch,
if you could give me the dimensions for every thing , I would think about it. I can get alum. or any metal you want to have it made out of. Get back with me and I will give you a cost.
I should add that I have been working in a machine shop for 40 years and am in the proces of seting up my own hobby machine shop at home.

Thats why I asked if he knew someone that works in a machine shop. I would have done something like that for free locally and could have done it out of scrap bar stock. We always had ends that went in the recycling barrels. I have a large pile of building weights thast are perfectly square on the ends made out of copper alloy that didn't cost me anything but a little time.
