Ultimate 40 cg?

I have a NITRO PLANES Ultimate 40 im trying to get balanced. I havent flown a bipe before and the manual is not helpful. Do I balance it on the top or bottom wing? rightside up or inverted? Thanks for your time.

RE: Ultimate 40 cg?

Usually it is top wing right side up. If you can't find a spec., measure 1/3 or so of the chord on the top and bottom wings. Your CG will be somewhere right in the middle of those two points I believe. Maybe somebody with a little more bipe experience has more input.

Use the attached diagram exactly as shown. If the wings are staggered then use the forward most Leading edge and the rearward most trailing edge as the total chord. This will establish the Mean Aerodynamic Chord (MAC) which is the line along which the position of the balance point should be measured.

The manual shows a cross section of the wing with the cg @ 120 mm? (dosent say mm but I assume?) back from the leading edge. Seems alot farther back then it should be (4.728"). Does that sound right? Thanks for your help guys!

RE: Ultimate 40 cg?

The C.G on my Ultimate Bipe 40 by Great Planes says " the C.G is located 2-3/8" back from the
leading edge of the bottom wing, next to te fuse sides.

That might help, they similar planes.
