Edge 540 kit/plans/whatever

Hey there!

I would like to build an Edge 540, kit or scrap from plans, doesn't matter.

However, all kits I've found are real big ones, and plans... well haven't found them

Very important: I want it to be around .40 size, I have a Saito FA.80 fourstroke lying around I would like to use. (around 60" wingspan I guess)

If anyone knows of a kit this size, or plans (free or cheap ones would be appreciated!)

thanks!

I am designing a 21% Edge. I have the fuse design almost complete, but have yet to start on the wings. It will be a little while before it is complete, but my intensions are to build an EXTREMELY light plane that will do any trick in the book and feel like a 30 to 35% plane.

So, are you saying that you will make those plans available afterwards ?

Or do you have any good links/pics/info the get started, I feel like I'm up to making my own plans if really necessary, but I would need lots of info regarding wing length/beam ratio, chord thickness, tip thickness, chord and tip lengths, fuselage length en width & heigth, airfoil design etc etc etc....

Try D&L Designs. They have kits and plans for a 60 size. I built a 60 size and almost have it covered. IT is a very good kit.

If it all works out, I would like to find a company to kit it and sell it, but I would want them to maintain certain specs to ensure strength and a light weight airframe. I may see about making the plans available.

You're not the only one looking for 540 plans. I've been looking for 40 to 60 size planes and no luck here either. Been looking for 9 months.

Give us the specs on it if you would and engine sizes and everything. Sounds interesting. I wached one fly this weekend full scale and would love to build a good model of it. Looked great!

Bummer. I bet it would make a great 60 to 90 size kit. Looks like fun.

I am sure too ... but in india the 46 sized engine is the most popular size :) believe it or not :)

There are a lot of them here too. I have quite a few, just looking for a larger one in that particular plane. Would be fun.

I have a large G-202 with a saito 180 in it but I am not crazy about it. Don't know why, just don't like it as much.
