I need a .030 shim to mount under my motor for a bit of up thurst. What do I use? Where can I get a shim?

Thanks.

I can't remember if it's Goldberg or Sterling that used to, or still may sell a package of 1-2 and 3° shims. If all else fails and as a last resort, you can use washers or get some hard plastic and kind of taper it yourself. If you have no luck, I can get you a picture of the package_bob

Thanks. If I do use washers, how much should I lift the front of the motor off the mount?

What brought you to the conclusion for needing the shim?

Ernst makes packages of 1, 2, & 3 degree "engine mount thrust plates" as they call them. Made for various engine sizes and fit between the mount and the firewall. The only ones I have on hand now are 40 size and its part number 103, cost was $2.29.

The guy who kits this plane says you'll need it in the instructions.

You don't shim the motor on the mount, you shim the mount at the firewall.
