Throttle Servo Location And Pushrod On Gas Model
I have noticed in the Hanger 9 manual for the 1/3 scale Cap 232 that they mount the throttle servo on the engine box within a few inches of the engine with a metal pushrod and clevis. I thought that the servo should be at less 12 in. away with a non metallic pushrod. Are you able to do this on an engine with a magneto type ignition system and not on one with electronic ignition? I am going to use a ZDZ 80 single in mine. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Throttle Servo Location And Pushrod On Gas Model
As a rule, you should keep your ignition components 12 or more inches from your receiver electronics. I have seen installations where the servo is on the engine box as well. I would recommend that you either twist the leads or install chokes.

If you mount the servo on the engine box use a fiberoptic servo extension. If not mount the servo in the fuselage and run a nonmetallic pushrod to the throttle.
