Cub tires coming off rims!! Help!!!!!
 

Hello, I have a 4*120 that weighs 11.5 lbs. I have kit bashed it somewhat. I have 4 1/4" DuBro Cub wheels and any if I touch down a little rough, the wheels come off the rims. (This is mainly if I steer while still rolling fairly fast). Has anyone had this problem with ANY rubber wheels and nylon rims? If so....... what adhesive did you use to glue the tire on the rim? (I tried black RTV silicone and it did not help at all). Thanks....lownslo........

With foam or hard rubber types a bead of medium ca around the rim after peeling the tire back a bit works every time to prevent peeling.

Thanks....... Yesterday a wheel came off again on a rough landing. It REALLY was not that bad. Anyway..... this time the speed was up enough that it ripped out the gear block!! Sooooo, the tires may be going. I like the looks of these "fats" on this modified 4*.... but I am tired of the mishaps.
PS.. these tires are not the inflateable type. ....lownslo....

If the hubs ar the ones that bolt together, the tires have a hole on the side to add air. like a basket ball!

Unfortunately ... that is not the case with these.
They are DuBro.."425's I think, and the rims do bolt together. I have the tires off the rims now and I went to the shop. No air fill on this model by DuBro. If I remembered the tech notes on this, it was listed as rubber coated foam. They are really light for the size. thanks again...lownslo..

Medium CA will hold them on. I've run gas trucks on dirt with the tires glued with CA, they don't come off. You can't pull them off without ruining the tire. Just make sure everything is clean when you glue them.
