Am I on the right track

I Have an edge 540 50 cc from crpro haveing a hard time to land flys good it flars up when coming in and to the point of a stall but settle down trysd move the battery up front made it better but when invertited wants to dive hard , i think move the battery back and add some down trust to the engine will any ideals would help.

It seems that your plane is slightly nose heavy.

This trimming sequence may help you:

I'd check your Incidences first,, Then the CG,
you make have a combo off issues

There are lots more details than CG that affect landings. Also, down thrust isn't usually one of them.

You really need to do some CG testing and very probably need to sort out your idle speed. Too much prop pitch and too high an idle are so often a problem of landing that they need to be looked at too. The final is basically a gliding segment where the engine's thrust isn't of much importance. Sudden accelerations shouldn't be needed but have you done thrust line tests?

You're on the track too soon. What you've mentioned certainly can be the reason, but so could many, many other things. A flying buddy was having a problem landings. We dropped the idle and another guy flew it. It landed sweet. He still had the problems. He was simply trying to land too slowly too soon on final. He's still trying different "fixes", but still pulling too much elevator too soon trying to slow it too much.

But good thing about models is that you can test anything anytime.

By all means, check the CG. Matter of fact, where is it now? Where is the suggested CG on your model and which way is yours off? Is the airplane setup with the suggested throws? Do you have dual rates set and are you using low rates to land? Do you use exponential? Models often zoom the flare on landing when they're coming in too fast. Too easy to give them too much elevator.
