New 86" Yak and 3W
Reza,
My original 26% Yak 85" bit the dust the other day and I was wondering about a replacement. I fly 3W and don't plan to change to DA. The original 85" Yak 54 was made for the 3W motor the new Yak is geared toward the lighter DA. I plan to use the New 55I single but how does the moved firewall affect the heavier motor installation ? Is there still mount template included for the 3W engine as part of the set up?
Thanks
Johnny

RE: New 86" Yak and 3W
Hi Johnny,
Sorry to hear about that!
No there won't be any 3W template in the box. All you have to do is to find the center of the DA engine which is marked on the new 86" and put the center of your 3W on it and mark the holes for your engine. I'm sure you will still be able to mount your engine with no problems. As far as CG goes you will need to play around with the location of the batteries. Let me know if you wanted to be added to the waiting list. I will help you to mount your motor if you decided to buy one.
Happy New Year,

Johnny,
As I was going through the manual for the 86", I realized that there are markings for 3W-50 on the engine box. If the 50 and 55 are the same then all you need to do is to drill the holes
Thank you,
Reza
