Default New Somenized Yak-73" in Stock and Shipping

Dear All,

We have just received our new Somenized Yak-54 73" G2. Unlike the original plane, this one uses foam free technology that will make the plane lighter and more durable. It also comes with removable clear SFG that can improve flying performance of this plane in 3D aerobatic regime considerably. Like our 102" G3 and new 86", this plane has been improved both in quality and flying performance. Plane comes with a new gorgeous color scheme. Pictures don't do it justice.

The new Yak 73" would be a perfect choice for gas engines range of 26-40cc or glow from 120-180 two and four stroke. I am thinking about doing a gas conversion in 40cc arena but can't make any promise at this point. I will keep you posted on this later on.

Price is $419.95 plus shipping.

Regards,
Reza
P.S Website shows the price of the old 73". Unfortunately our webmaster is not feeling very good, so website is a little behind. We wish him soon recovery.

the 73" looks great Reza and if it is lighter and flys better that the last 73" QQ yak you have a sweet plane on your hands. i can't wait to see one in person.

I note that the new 73" now comes with double elevator horns, I am sure it does but could you confirm that this also apply too the ailerons and rudder, its difficult to see from the photo's.

I think you not only would have a top notch plane and engine, you would have something quite different form the rest of the planes that are in this catagory.... (yes I know the other combo is a 40cc but not this light of one) in the power to weight ratio that is....
It may not be one of QQ'sponsors??? (ys/DA/Evolution) but I think you could get away with this one!!

I compared the size with a OS 120 AX ( I know you have one of these laying around)
I was going to place it in my GP HAWK but life has been taking building time away from me..I also am repairing my cap 580 w/a DA 100 after the engine quit in a stalled flight condition (no fault of the egine)
I have always thought about purchasing the 73 yak..
(by the way the hand is my 2 year old sons) I am not a very small person @6'3"

Rezza

I have the ZDZ 40F3A in stock, and as the UK dealer I am quite sure we could come to some sort of arrangement, email me direct if you orQQ might be interested

The picture is taken of one of the first batch of ZDZ 40F3A engines to show the actual weight of this superb engine

I am very interested in this plane and am currently looking for a suitable engine for it. The Evolution 26cc isnt enough for me. I have an Evolution 45 in my 86" and even that has little vertical pull out. The Evolution 35cc has a claimed weight of 52 oz!!!! 6 more oz. than the 45. I checked two sources and they confirmed it, but unsure if that was based on a mis print from the factory. Horizon and Chief claimed it. The ZDZ 40 looks very appealing, but am unsure of its mounting, tuning, running, characteristics. How about a list of other gassers that you feel suitable? You mention that you wanted to do a gasser install for this plane. What engine would you choose?

The 35Evolution is that fat... I think If they were able to trim some wieght, they would have a very popular engine...(But it's not my company,so what do I know)
If you want the best info about the Evolution engines in general, go on the MVVS website I will give you. Same engines as the Evolution except Red heads...
http://www.mvvs.nl/
this may even help you with you Evolution 45, and geting that to go a little better..... ....
The site has excellent info about your engine also a forum to ask question about your engine..... very helpfull....

The ZDZ 40F3A is a very reliable engine... Very simular to the ZDZ 40cc but some diferences in the ports and balance ect. that has made it a real smooth running engine with very little vibration and smooth transition.....

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_54...tm.htm#5469339
Above is the link that talks in detail about this on Rcuniverse...

Hope this helps..

ANYONE PICK THIS PLANE UP?

It seems the 69" has been quit popular...
Perhaps it is due to the less exspensive power options?
I looked on the RCS webpage and found that the ZDZ f3A price had gone up....
In fact the 4-stroke 50cc gasser also went up quite a bit as well in price...
The zdz f3A is 600$

Shoot. I would think that many would just spend a few bucks more and go for the QQ 50 cc yak
and put the DA 50 in it... (same price as the 40ccZDZ f3A)....

I still am considering the 73" though....
I really wanted to get a dedicated pattern plane and put it in that, but to spend over 1000$ on one of those and to have never competed or flew a pattern plane, just seems like it is over my head!

I think I would rather spend the 1000$ on QQ new python BIpe, or the 100cc yak!
anyway,,,,,

I some one had this plane, could you past how it is going>>>??

i have had the 73" and the 72" both and they are great flying planes. IMO if you want a great glow plane that will fly IMAC and 3D go with the 73" and a OS 160 fx and if you want to go gas move up the the 86" or even better the 102"(i have had two 102's so far). waht ever kind of flying you like the QQ planes can handle and QQ aircraft service is the best you can get.

The new 73 is a great little plane. Very light weight. I flew it in intermediate pattern contest two weeks ago and was in 1st place until I was shot down by another radio. I used a ys 140 sport which had plenty of power for that class. It 3D's very well also. Customer support is great and they have been very helpful in getting my plane rebuilt with spare parts. I've also been flying a generation one 100cc which is what I use for demos and Imac flying. Another awesome airplane even with the shortcomings of the first run of production. Mine has held up well with over 200 flights. Jim

Default RE: New Somenized Yak-73" in Stock and Shipping

Just finished the build on my 73" and am very happy with the quality overall. However I've run into a few problems. On the elevators, the recommended throws are 61mm and I am only able to get about 55mm without the elevators hitting the rudder control horn bolts. I turned the bolts over so that the bolt threads and nuts were pointing up and out of the way, but that still wasn't enough.

I also have a concern about the low rate throws for elevator. The manual states 8mm travel. I tried this on the first flight and nearly crashed as i had hardly any control for pitch. I checked the CG and it seems to be in the range where it's supposed to be, but I think it might be a little nose heavy still.

Also I'm wondering if I'm having the same problem with the gear on my plane as some folks have with the new 69". The wheels seem like they're toed in quite a bit, however that might just be a characteristic of the Yak.

Thanks,
Andrew

Landing gear on the Inspirone Filton 60 has the same weird landing gear toe in.....
They claim it is made to be that way and will flaten over time!

I remember someone with a 69" or 8" that had theat and Rezia sent them new ones...

I have had 3 different gear (because I broke the first two on extremely hard landings) for the original 73" yak and all had the same camber as seen in the previous post and just purchased the new 73" yak which has the same camber. I think this is scale as the full size yaks wheel have plenty of camber when in the air just as the space between the cowl and prop is scale. Even so nobody at the fly-ins or at my home field (including myself) has ever took notice.

On my first 73" yak I used as much elevator and rudder I could get on high rates and left it at that. I set the cg for 3d and seemed to still have plenty of throw for extreme 3d (or maybe I just didnt know any better). With the latest yak I used the old single style control horn and filled in the extra hole with an epoxy balsa mix and will customize the elevators for clearance to allow for maximum deflection.

I figured the low rates are set for nice smooth precision aerobatics but were on the low side for my taste also. I ended up adding more throw until I was comfortable with it.

I use the manual as a good starting point for the build, CG, and throws and then modify for my preferences.

jimmytheeagle, sorry to hear about your tragic radio hit. I can attest to their high level of customer support as they have been great to work with through all my mishaps.

Hello hovhas,

Actually it is built the same way but comes with double control horn on the elevator instead of one. CG and everything else remains the same. Make sure to to test the throw on the elevator and rudder befoer gluing.

Thank you,
Reza
