Default 86" Wing Retainer Pins

Reza,

This past weekend I was lucky....I happened to look inside the hatch, between flights, and noticed that one of the wing retainers had vibrated out. When showing that to someone else at my club they said the newer models no longer use this method. Is that right? If so, what method is now used to retain the wings and is mine modifiable to that method? Thanks.

David.

Thats funny i thought the 86" was the new model...
Mine has not come out yet, but when i installed it i used 80 grit sand paper to rough it up before glueing it.

Are you talking about the pin in the wing or the clip that goes in the pin?

See ya.

Wings,

I guess I should have been clearer. By newer model I meant more recent shipments of the 86. And yes, by the retainer pins I meant the hitch pins that slide into the anti-rotation pins.

Hi Dave,

No it comes with retainer pins. I think you might have a little distance between your washer and retainer pin. Make sure it is snug, you can add another thin washer to fill up any gap. Also see if your cutter pin is going in tight, otherwise change it.

Hope this helps,
Reza

This seems to work well, but the reason I did it was a lack of room after putting in a cannister exhaust into the 85"it was difficult to get my fingers down past the tank.
