I think we should do the mass drop at noon on Saturday, usually we have a lot that don't come back on Sunday, especially if the contest points are only going to be counted on Saturday.

We could do that. I only have one guy I think that is coming up for only Sunday. I think most everyone should be there for Saturday. I have not decided on the points thing yet. I was thinking of adding the HALO as a points piece for Sunday or maybe set it up so we do some jumps in the morning Sunday and use only your best to add to your total for the weekend. I am open to ideas if anyone has any.

RE: 2010 CORKS Sky Dive Rally

I think we should limit the number of jumps (5 ?)each of us can make on Sunday and add that to Sat scores for the trophys. This came up once before at Muncie and all agreed that jumping both days for score is the best. Most said it wasn't worth it to travel all the way to the jump area for only one day of jumping.

I agree with Gary, making the mass jump at noon on Sat is probably the best way to go.

I also suggets that a separate trophy or something be given for the HALO winner and not add points made in the HALO to the normal scores we post. A lot of people will probably "chicken" out on the HALO!!!

    Jim

P.S. We should shoot for a 15 man mass jump! Give the European guys a run for their money.

    Mike,
I'll go along with Jim's suggestion. Although I would not limit the number of jumps you can make on Sunday. I would set off a cutoff time like at noon or so.
I also agree with Jules (even if he can't be there) ORANGE paint, and ORANGE paint only for the circle!!!
    Juan

    PS: 3-5, 3- 5 forever!!!

Thats what we will do then. MASS DROP SATURDAY AT NOON. We will have a cut off time on Sunday. I had already planned a Prize for the HALO Jump so we are covered there. NO ORANGE PAINT.

    See you guys

RE: 2010 CORKS Sky Dive Rally

I agree, the halo jump should be more for fun and a separate contest. For the travel time involved we need to be able to to as many jumps as possible. We should keep the main contest for accuracy. It should be over both days to make people want to stay for the weekend. BTW how will the halo be judged, on one jump, heats, does the jumper have to be able to jump again, if the altitude is close how will we measure the difference?

RE: 2010 CORKS Sky Dive Rally

We will play the HALO on Sunday by ear, it is going to be more for fun than anything. I figured we would probably take an hour to an hour and a half to do that after the actual contest is over. I think we will have to designate someone as a judge and we will fly two up at a time and release them at the same time in the same spot each time. This will give us a reference point to use such as the tree's in the distant back ground. Use them as kind of a back drop. We will make the judge sit in a chair so they are not moving around and keeps their head in the same area each time. Maybe even have the judge call when to release them as well, so it is released in the same spot each time. Like I said, we will have to play with that one and make adjustments as we go. Rule one for sure is, the shoot has to fully deploy and open before it hits the ground. Streamers do not count. I am looking forward to it, should be fun.

Unlimited jumps both days your top five scores will count, mass drop noon on Saturday. Only one Raffle prize this year but we are giving other prizes away for the winners and other fun stuff. We won't have to worry about the same person winning both raffles this year.

    Hey Guys,

We can turn the mass drop into a little contest also.
Everyone that participates in the mass drop put a couple of dollars ($5 at the most) in the pot and the closest to the bulls eye during the mass drop takes the pot.
But not discourage anyone from doing the mass drop because of the money, just those with their name and money in the pot before the drop are eligible to win the money.

Good idea Gary. The one I saw in Holland got pretty busy in the circle and they left all jumpers there until all were down. And it would be a good way to measure the closest to the center. I might even try it with Wally.

There will be more than one "Redneck" there this year and maybe next year too so watch out for the "Paint Battle" with shotguns. We cut our eye teeth on shootin down here. Ahians can't shootcan they? Too bad you can't make it this year Jules.[&o]

    White paint huh Frank?[>:]

Gary, the money for the mass jump closest to the pin sounds great. I vote for $5 to the pot!
That will make the Rally even more fun and cool!![8D]

No ORANGE OR RED PAINT!!! We do not want to give Juan the advantage by painting the circle with ORANGE!!

I know he is a FAMOUS CELEBRATY now and he has his own demands in order to show up and grace us with is presence, LIMO, HOOTERS GIRLS and ORANGE PAINT for the circle but he is going to have to come down off that horse and do a little slumming! Best we can probably do is a CHEVY VEGA, LOCAL LOT LIZARD dressed in orange shorts and............ WHITE PAINT!!!!!

Hows that Juan, will that work? This is going to be a lot of fun. I and the rest of the club really appreciate everyone who is coming to the event. I know it is not cheap to do this and we really do thank you all for coming.
