racers or shelf queens
Hey all
Just wanted to see how many buggy's are racers that means you compete on a track against other racers.
or are you a shelf queen that your buggy never gets dirty and you olny drive it on the street.
I'll bet there are more shelf queens than racers.
pics and posts lets see what happeneds.
im a racer what are you?
all in good fun

RE: racers or shelf queens
I can't see people would buy a nitro buggy for a shelf queen? No parts to bling the thing out. Nor does it look pretty or realistic.
Something like Ofna MBX etc would obvious be bought to bash. But I think most bashers buying a competition level kit would look towards a truggy.

basher
my Jammin x1x RTR only seen like 4-5 runs though due to the weather on days I had free to run it though(like most my nitros, weather was pretty bad this year on my days off). Put a good crack in its stock body though with those few runs
My Tamiya DF-02 buggy is on its 2nd chassis ue to bashing

RE: racers or shelf queens
Honestly, a racing buggy SHOULD be a shelf queen. In other words when your done racing for the day, that vehicle should broken down, detail cleaned and relubed ready for the next race day. If attn. to detail like that is done then that buggy will be in condition where it can be displayed on a shelf. I myslef have extra painted "shelf" bodies/and wheel/tire combosI use for display purposes when not in use.

RE: racers or shelf queens
I have a list of pro cars. I am a racer but no track and people to race against. The sport just died here and now my cars have become shelf queens. The best hardware for racing. I am the kind of guy that just cannot bash my pro race car with cnc hopups and high speed servos that cannot bash......not with a OS Speed, or any of my race engines. So It must wait till I can race....one day....

Mine is just an old basher. Id like to try racing it some, but the track is about an hour away and I dont want to put the $$ and time into it to drive that far to race. I do try to keep it halfway clean though. Bashing a buggy ends up getting grass all over the chassis, so its a little bit of a job to keep it decent looking. haha

No racing here and no shelf queen either I'm a basher so my buggy is usually 20ft in the air or flying full throttle everywhere...however I'm kinda OCD and like a nice clean looking buggy...

RE: racers or shelf queens
I know several people who race shelf queens. It depends on how good of a driver you are and what your intent is. Some racers take care of their rc cars as well as pro full size racers do...... tooth brushes, paint brushes, wd40, simple green, etc....
