New Losi 810
Hi all,
I received my Losi 810 Friday. I have not heard alot about the 810 just a couple of posts. I wanted to say I am impressed. The steering is sharp and strong. The linkage is a larger size than the other well known companies. The servos are possitioned perfectly in line for the most accurate movement. At first glance you notice alot of metal parts in key areas. I think the nicest feature maybe the simplest thing is the fact that when fuel is put in the tank it freely flows to the carb. This is such an improvement from the others. No more taking the fuel line off and blowing through to get it to the carb. This may be all common knowledge to the racers out their but for me a basher this thing is great. It can turn in a3 foot radius. It also comes pre broke in at the factory. No more burning a quart of fuel going in circles and stopping. Why cant all the companies do this? For those of you in the market for a 1/8 scale buggy you got to check this thing out. One more thing I was a little concerned about the size when I first opened the box. After the first drive I realized that the smaller size was perfect.

Are you sure about that pre broken-in engine because thats unheard of.
I could not find anything on losi's site about that.It seams that's something
pretty important like that would be listed in the features

I am possitive the break in was done at the factory. The first thing I did was look at the manual to learn Losi's break in procedure. It quotes there is no need for a break in procedure, break in is done at the factory. It does add not to go full bore at first to allow parts to seat. Then after an hour of running fine tune. This is my 5 th nitro and non havebeen so easy out of the box.
I was not expecting such a quality product for the price. I have read there are better comparable buggies for a cheaper price. I would put the 810 against any even close in price. I seen Ofna (not every model) and I dont think so. Please remember this is my opinion. People are serious about what they own.

No... the break in was not done at the factory. I have an 810, and I do know that in the manual it says something like "this engine has been manufactured to extremely high tolerances and does not need breaking in", but trust me... you will destroy it without at least a 4 tank break in. A nitro engines does not exist that doesn't require a break in, even ringed nitro engines require a break in.
Now remember, the 810 is not a true 1/8th scale buggy, its too light to meet spec. It is also not a big block. Its an adaptation of the ten-t.

You are right the manual does not say break in was done at the factory. It does say an extended break in is not needed. So I quess I have distroyed the engine. Funny I thought they would have said this would happen in the manual. I think I'll be ok. Thanks for the correction.
