Default RE: Jammin x1x

Sorry for above post. But just posted too quick. My question is the jammin x1x still one of the better rtr's to buy? I have read many posts over the last couple weeks and it seems like it is highly recommended. I will not be racing with it but rather just running in my yard and maybe some in the street. I can buy for $300 and could spend another $100 for upgrades. Could you also tell me what upgrades to get with my $100. Also if the x1x jammin is still the best buy for my money? I also saw a website rc blast selling it for $209... Anyone have info on them???

Thanks!

I have one, tough as nails.

It's an older model and some will say not as competitive anymore, but for the money, it's a good buy.

I've upgraded it extensively and still race with it. I got the X1X Pro Team Kit, so not RTR. Motor, servos, TX / RX & batteries are all separate.

Upgrades:

Z-brace
Lightened Chasis

OFNA Lightweight Front/Rear Differential Outdrive Cups (2)
Kyosho Lightweight 46T Center Spur Gear
OFNA Jammin X1-CR Pivot Ball Conversion Kit (changed back to original now)
OFNA Hard Anodized Aluminum Wing Stay Posts
OFNA CNC 7075 Aluminum Rear Uprights
Xtreme Racing Ofna Jammin X1-CR Silver Carbon Fiber Rear Wheel Scrapers (2)
OFNA Screw Type Hinge Pins w/Nuts
OFNA Hard Anodized Aluminum CNC Center Chassis Braces
King Headz Jammin X1-CR/X1-CRT Extended Motor Mount - Picco .21 - .27 (Black)
OFNA CNC 7075 Center Differential Mount
OFNA Graphite Front Plate
Xtreme Racing Ofna Jammin X1-CR Carbon Fiber Center Diff Brace
Xtreme Racing Ofna Jammin X1-CR Carbon Fiber Servo Tray
OFNA Lightweight Center Differential Outdrive Cups (2)
OFNA Titanium Turnbuckle Kit
OFNA Hard Anodized Aluminum CNC Steering Knuckles
OFNA Hard Anodized Aluminum Radio Tray Posts

All spares and upgrades can be found here:

If you're just starting and don't want to go full tilt, I'd say get the Z-Brace, Wing and body stays, front and rear chasis braces and lightweight out drives.

Good luck and have fun.

Thanks Tommygun32!

When you say some willsay itsoutdated, do you think that there is a newer model or different brand that I should be looking at? Everyhting Iread seemsto be a year or2 old when Ilook upbest buy for newbie or best starter buggy. Seems like hyper and jammin in my price range were the most recommended and then a little higher price the losi and rc8.

I am surprised you didn't tell me to update the servos...

Thanks!

You're not racing the buggie, so you can update the stock rtr servos once they go. You will notice a massive difference as well.

I run these in my buggie:

Hitec HS-7955TG Ultra Torque Titanium Gear Digital Servo

And these in my X2 Truggy:

Savox SC-1256TG Standard Digital "High Torque" Titanium Gear Servo

For the money, I feel this is a great buggie to start with. Great quality parts and tough as nails. I have a Kyosho MP7.5 Kanai III, Kyosho US Sport, Hyper 8.5 Pro Kit, X2 Truggy and the upgraded Jammin' (Hong Nor) X1X Pro Team Kit. The X1X is my favorite at the moment.

If you choose something a little newer, it'll probably be a bit more expensive.

Give it a couple more days, I'm sure more people will chime in with other options/opinions.

Hong Nor is coming out with a newer version of the X2 Buggie, but I'm sure it's going to have a few teething issues (like all new models) but the price is going to be up there as well.

Thanks again!! I would get a starting kit better than the zip pull but not sure where to even start with that...

It's a bit on the pricey side, but it will be the last starter box you buy:

OFN10244 OFNA Truggy Starter Box

Mount a 12v motorcycle battery in it and you're done.
