I just use a basic Flysky GT3B, had it for years and no issues, been dropped, kicked, drinks spilled on it. Still works well, easy to program and very cheap to buy.
Never seen the need for $300+ radios in car racing, they seem to be more of a status symbol.

I use the flysky gt2b comes with lipo battery and usb charger $35 ebay free ship ww,ive had the gt3b and c but you have too look at the screen to adjust trims and the gt3b takes 8Aaa batts whethers the gt2b you just turn dials while still driving and they were all about the same for good response and range of 300 meters plus.

Define "budget" My brother uses the GT3C radio, comes with a lipo, I use a iT4 radio, color touch screen and more features then I need or even use. One was $50.00, the other was $130.00. Both are budgets compared to the top end name brand radios.

    They sold out fast.
