Default Hyper 7 PBS servo replacement - rubber grommets?

My Hyper 7 PBS came in today and I am currently replacing the radio gear. The stock servos did not have rubber grommets installed. The servos that came with my JR XS3 came with rubber grommets. Should I use them? I do have one servo installed with the grommets, however it doesn't seem very secure. The screws don't seem like they are getting tight enough, despite the brass bushing inside the grommet, therefore promoting constant loosening.

Thanks.

royta - servos are one of the most important things on your car, so protecting them, and making sure they are secure is paramount. You should always use the grommets, as they not only prevent glitching, but they also give a nice cushion to the electronics in case of a heavy landing.

Personally - I never use the std screws the include in the kit - you are right, they always seem to loosen, or never get tight enough. Pick up some 4-40 screws and some locknuts. Secure them that way. Then you you know that they arnt going to rattle loose.

That makes sense to use the screws and lock nuts. JR said to insert the brass colored bushings in the bottom of the grommet. I inserted them in from the top, that way the screw goes doesn't distort the grommet as bad because it isn't twisting against the grommet.

Thanks for the advice.

Are you sure you're using the corect size screw?
The screws that come with the buggy are 3mm sheet metal style, right?
I don't think they'll fix through the brass eyelets that come with the servo

I run the stock screws w/wasers, rubber gromets without the brass eyelets and they tighten up just fine

The biggest screw you'll get to go through those brass eyelets are #2 or 2mm, those would be to small

Yeah scale, they probably are 3mm sheet metal screws. They thread into a plastic block. They're getting replaced anyway. I picked up some an assortment pack of 3mm button head screws with washers and lock nuts at the LHS today. I also picked up a pair of aluminum servo horns to fit on the new servos.
