dbcool - follow your manual's instructions for proper break in, the manufacturer knows whats best. Which engine are you installing in the inferno?

Default RE: inferno break in

well i got the RTR inferno and I broke mine in like this. I ran a tank through it at idle not messing with the throttle and did that another time as well. Then i drove the car around a bit on the third tank not going over half throttle. On the 4th tank I drove it about like the third tank but i gave it some quick blips of full throttle. I did all of this on cement. The 5th tank i put it on the track and repeated it just like the 4th tank. Do a real good tune on the track on that 5th tank and you should be ready to go. Oh yea if all the sudden everything locks up assuming you dont have a starter box dont get real worried take the engine off and make sure the one way bearing is ok and if it is then it is probably stuck at TDC which you just have to remove the head and heat up the block and push down on the piston sleeve and piston until it unlocks. I hope I have helped you out and have fun it is a great car.
