RE: xtm x-terminator
I don't know about the xtm, but stay away from ofna! My friends and I got ofna's (4 of them), and we have had nothing but problems! I here the hot boddies lighting is good, but to me it looks the same as the ofna mbx.

RE: xtm x-terminator
Xterminator low down-
First and foremost, if your friend can plunk down the $420, tell him to get the Deluxe- it is worth it.
Now, for the Xterminator ($299 RTR)-
I heard they are shipping with Metal Gear steering servos now. That's a plus. Tell him to see if he can confirm he will get one with the XTM metal gear servo. The older Hitec 605BB is junk and will break after a short while.
Motor is awesome. You really won't hear anything bad about the 24.7.
Shock tower- gear case mounts are VERY weak. The rear shock tower specifically. If the car rolls and takes an impact on the rear shock tower, you will probably break the gear case dog ear mounts. There are a lot of home made work arounds for this, but no off the shelf part yet
The stock throttle servo is garbage. Hitec HS-311- bottom of the heap. Doesn't even have enough torque out of the box to engage the brakes very well. Replace it.
XTM's website is great, their customer support is great, and their parts support is good through Hobby People.
I would say it's as good as the Ofna Ultra MBX and GT RTR's.

Oh, and it's fine for bashing and racing... Not as good as some, but as good or better then others. It's an entry level buggy, not a dedicated racer. Should be fine for the time being.

RE: xtm x-terminator
I bought the mbx pro, and so did two friends, the other one is the ofna lx. They are in mint condition, there not all dirty and worn, there still like new and they don't run. one has a max of a gallon through it, the lx has maybe 5 tanks. (lx runs better then the rest)

Fair case there Dale just the 24.7 doesnt have the rpm and so speed of the 8 port.

believe me, go on Ofna's website and check the forum for the 8 port.
The 24.7 pulls hard throughout the powerband, the 8 port doesn't wake up until
like 1/3 of the way through it's RPMs. I own both, I know.
Maybe the 24.7 doesn't have the last few thousand RPM's on the top end, but that
can be compensated for in gearing.

RE: xtm x-terminator
Hi,
I'm the owner of the european version of the x-terminator, the GT-21 and it suffies when you stay on-road, but when you want to do stuff a buggy is made for you have to change almost everything (the servos are weak, the casings break very easy and the motor heats almost immediately ( it is impossible to finish a tank without restarting), and do alot of workaround for the earlier mentioned weak differential casings.
One tip, stay on road and you''l have a lot of onroas fun, but not buggy-fun

As many people have already said, the buggy is fine as an entry level jobby but you will have to perform some DIY to strengthen the weak bits.... Top tip... get a load of spare gear cases!!

RE: xtm x-terminator
I've had a Rex-X for a few months and have raced with it many times, only thing I have broken is a lower suspension arm, Force 21 is a bit suspect, kept overheating for me so I put a RB engine in it and it was great. Decided now to sell it and get an MBX5 but it was great for getting me in the sport.

RE: xtm x-terminator
my mate also just recently blew his motor in it atleast it went out in style. there was a huge back fire and tones of smoke came out of the exahust it looked cool. now he is thinking of droping an os rg-x our an 8port. but i told him the 8port was to exspensive when you add the 20e carb.

RE: xtm x-terminator
i just got the delux version
slapp 18t CB in it .. it hauls .lol
the CB is taking a beating from that metal spur thou.
.247s are powerful ,but do have issues.
the oneway bearing hub's slot(for crankshaft's pin)
will wear(enlarge) and generate shavings
from burrs rubbing against the rod.
i inspect them all de time and replaced them as needed.
i first found out becuase i went through 3 plugs within 1 tank.
i backed off the hsn like most peaple would have.
it wasn't a pretty site when i took the engine apart.
even the replacements oneway hub will start wearing.
the bushing on the backplate will slide out cuasing
the the pullstart to stick or not retract.
you can jb weld the metal bushing to the plastic plate
to remedy this problem.
other than the two issused , these engines great.
ez tuning and plenty of power
i have the reg big head and the pro for my savages.
anyhow, my questions
are the tires and wheels on the X interchangeable to other buggies?
bassically ... can mount pro line, trc, etc.. wheels and tires to
the X.
is there a way to adjust the torque if i run on different surface?
i don't see a spur nut .lol
my first buggie
the diffs on this baby are torsion type...yeah???

RE: xtm x-terminator
i'm almost done with the wing to my patriot
anyhow de.247
there a ridge at the crankshaft pin that prevents
the oneway hub from rubbing against the rod.
when the slot gets bigger than the ridge..the rubbing begins.lol
you can use the opposite slot to get as much life
out of the hub. i inspect @ 1/2 gallon
$18 for the oneway hub
