Default RB Modified Crono 7 port VS RB modified S711

I was in the market for a new engine and I am hearing that the Crono7 RB modified will whoop any RB even if its modified. Is this true?? Also which is a better buggy, A Mayhem Pro or a Mugen MBX5? When I say better I mean all around in including the strongest? Please help me out . Thanks

Which buggy is better- that depends if your hobby shop can get parts are keep them in stock for what ever you get.I have had a MBX-4,MBX-Works XR,and a Kanai 1-I am not stuck on one brand.I have a Mayhem Pro with a C5 RB in it and the car handles very stable and sure footed.Everytime that I race it I am so glad that I tried it out.I got it to show people at the track that you dont have to have a $2000 car to win or keep up on the track.I would go with a Novarossi or RB motor they are easy to tune and last for up to 10+ gallons if taken care of.RB WS7II is a very good motor,it has more power than most people need.Hope this helps[&:]

Thanks for the comment and I will keep my Modified S711. I really wanted to try the crono but I know that I have a good engine now. The crono is suppose to be a beast though and I would love to throw it in my mugen.

Who's Record,My Kyosho that I had with a C5 RB ported by me with 086 pipe, alum Kyosho clutches,1.1 springs, and a 13T CB was clocked 68 MPH down a 145ft straight away.Who cares how fast it is,will you be able to drive it and win.Sometime slower is faster.

I second that.

Wicked- your gearing isnt gonna allow you to go 68mph!!!!!!

Even if you leaned the motor wayy out and got a solid 60,000 rpms out of it- do the math- it aint hitting 68MPH's on a 13tooth CB and stock spur.

I have a crono RS Race 7T and it will kill anything out there jp's included I beat a rex .28 just last weekend along with a b5t.
Its a frickin animal it's hard to keep the frt wheels on the ground. The funny thing is it's a stock motor.

That was clocked with a Stalker Radar Gun,that is what the track owner told us it was running. All I know is that everytime we ran at that race people would line up to watch our car run down the straight, even the pro drivers were watching. Skyline,There are other people than you who know how to tune are drive a car.Did you think of the tire swell on all four corners to get topend speed. The race that it was clocked at we pulled a 5th in Expert, out of 69.

Plus Ricks record isnt for straightline racing as that don't mean crap in rc-racing- its lap times on a track.

Maybe it was running MT tires with a 42 tooth spur

Maybe-Do what you have to do.BR1EV8-How do you like the Mini-T with the Mamba? I had the Mamba with a 1015/11T Lenher in my mini-t and that thing was stupid!!!You could pull wheelies at will, even at 35mph.[8D]

I will have to get a video of me spanking a JP b5 mod with my RS race 7t (non-modified)
Rick was the one that told me about the motor before I got mine and hes right this thing is insane it's WAY to much motor for any track IMO.
I was thinking about taking my JP out of my on-road car and putting it in there cause you just cant get traction with it in a buggy no matter what tires i have tried.

I love it...its just as you described...wheelies as seemingly any speed. That is why I extended the chassis by one inch. Now it is a lot more stable. You said you "had", did you sell it?

I sold the Mamba and Lenher,it was to much for our driveway racing. Now I run a Big Block with a 1900mah ThunderPack and IPD speed control. It runs good for what I use it for.

Yeah right. My Kanai 1 with a monster 27 that was running low 300s, 15t cb, custom pipe and header was only able to muster low 50s clocked via a bushnell radar gun.

Sorry guys got to jump in here, Call Bob ( IEDA Drag National director) 336-584-8862 and ask him about my in line drag engines 109 mph at 175ft using the Crono turbo race, Also go to http://www.ieda-dragracing.com/ and there you will find my engines have been breaking records in top fuel dragsters 132ft 83mph 1.61 seconds. Now to clear up a few things. the Crono 5 port is the exact same engine as the P5 the turbo race and the standard 7 port is the Exact same thing as the JP FX parts are hand picked and all upgrades have been done to the engines, The Crono 8 port is the exact thing as the Nova Rossi 421B. All parts will fit each other, Also one of my C5 engines won the pro drag series race this year. The Crono turbo race are being used buy many Off road pro drivers at this time, After the mod it become very easy to handle per the smooth power and a very lineal power band, I also get more run time per tank of fuel and the engines are running cooler. I have proof boyz. Rick

You have to gear the crap out of that 27 to get any speed, bigblocks dont rev as high as a Race .21. They are all torque!!

Maybe I am not getting everything out of the bb but the engine turning 39,000 rpms +/- and changing the gear ratio, as I had already previously mentioned it is possible to hit 50. What's the likelihood of there being an error in accuracy? Probably pretty fair possibility. What's the likelihood that another buggy with a racing engine and stock gearing ran 15 mph faster? Unlikely but almost anything is possible. With a 13t cb on a buggy you're dealing with a gear ratio of 3.38:1. A 15t cb is 2.93:1.
