The P5s are bottom end engines and are fast enough for just about any racer. Not sure about others.

Spec wise it is claimed the Hyper 21 Pro is up there but I'd go for a JP modified for all out speed. Stock though the P7-R cuts the mustard.

Try Ebay. But best prices are when you phone up.

really ive personally ran the modded P5's and the stock both. the only diff was the fuel consumption. just get the stock one and youll be a happy man. i get about 9min per tank w/ mine (stock) save the cash! and make sure it has the larger bearing (X model)

I've purchased several engines from [link=http://stores.ebay.com/PDL-RACING]PDL Racing[/link]. They have the best prices and good service. You should be able to pick a P5x up for $258. Keep an eye on the site though......they frequently have deals that look almost too good to be true.

The P5 is a great engine. Even in stock form you will get the holeshot with a decent setup. Unless you have a massive straight in the layout it's typically more than enough power. The P5 is the most common race engine and for a good reason. Personally I'd save the money and get the P5.......you won't be dissapointed.

One important note: I don't have any experience with the RS5

9 minutes per tank!?!?!

you must be cruising around the track at 1/4 throttle.

With a race tune most can only get about 5min 40sec.

It has a new ceramic bearing. There is no performance difference. Just a reliability issue.

It all depends on your track. As I said before, get the P5. Especially if others are running it at your track......that most likely means that it is a good engine for the track. Just go see what the fast guys are running and buy that.

Or get one of these Max Power M5's modified my Massimo Fantini. I just got one and I am shocked at how well it runs. Has better bottom end than a P5 and better top than a 421b. And it's all smooth and controllable. They're about $420

The P5X does NOT have a ceramic bearing. It has a larger rear bearing and no "silicone putty" in the drilled crank.

wow ! thats not much time ... I have a fully modded P5 and it gets 13.5 mins to a tank in race mode and about 9.5 mins in " im going faster than i should be" mode .. try swapping fuel or try changing pipe . you will get better economy with an 086 pipe

My fave engine at the moment is the CMB EVO 2 R .. has awesome everything. opened it up and didnt even bother doing any mods... its a really well set up machine. also the Sirio Evo2 is quite the monster engine.. One of my team drivers uses one and it has dangerous power..

My modded engines get about 9 minutes or so but he was talking about his stock P5. Everyone at my track with a stock P5 runs between 5 and 6 minutes tops. Track conditions affect times but still I find it quite amazing that he can sqeeze 9 out of his.....unless he's got a smaller restictor or he's not an agressive driver.

There are a lot of variables but still 9 minutes out of a stock P5 with a decent tune is suprising.
