Race quality engine suggestions
I had a few engines in mind for my buggy in the event I want to start racing in the spring. I have a Redcat Hurricane and as far as i know by mix and match that the chassy mount is the same as a kyosho my 7.5. With that in mind which of these motors would be a good drop in for my buggy...

RE: Race quality engine suggestions
I dont actually run a truggy, but a buggy. And at my track every weekend we are getting top pros, and i also go to a lot of thew big races as well. Heres what i have seen.
1) Novarossi Rex .28 (this is by far the fastest motor you will ever find, kills buggies even though it is in a truggy. $315
2) O.S. V-Spec- Great milage, super wuick, reliable, holds A tune, does awsome at pullin a truggy. $300
3)Any of the p5s from novarossi are awsome, just as good as the v-spec if not better. I run the Rex p5x in my buggy, and i am probably not going to change motors anytime soon. $300
Those are probably the only motors i ever see in the top ranks, in my opinion, if you have skills and lots of throttle control, but need power. Novarossi .28 hands down.
If you are not too good with your throottle control, but want power, and better fuel milage to outrun your local guys, easy to tune, proven race motor, i would go with a p5x. I did not say the v-spec because of their front bearing problem after a few gallons, but they have supposably fixed that problem.

Dont get the STS DB21T, read through the forums and I have a good review in there about this thing. It's not nearly as fast as the racernine sponsored guys claim it is!!

The only reason you shouldnt get that is because of the problems they have, unless you get a modded one that has a differnet bearing in it.

i gotta say that is prob due to newbies who dont change air filters, no after run oil, rev the crap out of it on the starter box etc.
any engine will fail. its just OS sells prob the most top end engines, so more likely lots will fail.
