I got mine. I'm at work so I've only had a chance to dig through the box and take a quick peak. Everything looks very cool and I can't wait to get home tonight and start building. I didn't realize this before, the kit comes with all the currently available swaybars and shock springs. SSSWWWEEEETTT

I can't wait to get my own, get it together and hit the local tracks hard. "Thank goodness for the South - where it's never too cold to race" - Me
Good luck to all you 8ight-ers. Let us know how it handles. Take it easy.

Rc shack is where I got mine. Best Service, Best Price and I'm pretty sure I got mine before anyone (except team guys) www.thercshack.com I stayed up till 2am, got most of it together, going home at lunch break today to finish it up so I can get some laps in tonight. This buggy is ****, if the build and parts quality is any indication this will be the buggy to have for '07. Hopfully I'll have a driving report tomorrow.

RE: When will we see the Losi 8ight???
I picked mine up yesterday and started assembling it. Its interesting. I finished the front end, heres some observations.
The parts are packed nicely, very logical build.
The fit is pretty much perfect on everything ive seen so far.
The manual is pretty good. Some steps are a little confusing figuring out which way a part is facing, if the part is symetrical, but most are stamped l/r
Theres a piece in the front end, a bulk head spacer, the picture of where to put it suck it took me 5 minutes of looking to figure it out, but i was tired
The chassis is THICK. As thick as my eck-tek for my mugen.
Half the hardware is stainless, half black, whick looks funny, but it is the right way to go.
Comes with diff fluids, loc-tite, shock fluid, etc.
Comes with steppins and average foam (Cut not molded)
Chassis stiffeners are plastic.
Everything fits in the front end with 0 space tolerance it seems like. Great as long as nothing goes wrong
Lastly, im a little hesitent on the steering ackerman. Its hard coated, and it seems stiff, but its got no milling and its arc'd, hopefully it wont bend easily.
Ill post more as I go through the center.
Chassis seems REALLY narrow.

RE: When will we see the Losi 8ight???
I live in michigan, and its going to rain all day today and all day tomorrow, so it doesnt look like a race weekend. Otherwise I would be at home building and not at work Ill finish it tonight, but I really dont want to drag it out to a wet clay track for its first run. It will be too hard to dial. I wasnt going to even get one, I just happened to call a friend who owns a hobby shop, asked if they got them, and then said 'yah, ill take one, worry about the divorce later'
Its one of those things where I have about 7 cars sitting around and I keep saying 'honey, im going to sell all of them but 2, but I never sell them because I have too much into them to sell them for what you can sell them for Know what I mean?
For a couple hundred bucks, id rather have the car sitting there. All 5 of them:/

RE: When will we see the Losi 8ight???
Travis Amezcua missed his fuel stop I think every time that it flamed because he was trying to make up time after missing the first one. After the first flameout because of no fuel he was a lap down and actually passed first and got it back. He dominated every qualifying round. At round one of the pro series east when he first ran it at the farm 2 we had four qualifiers and he dominated them too. He wrecked once in all qualifiers. He was setting the pace so much that his slowest lap was faster than 75% of everyone elses fastest lap. I am being serious too!!!!!!

Eat your hearts out . The chassis is deffinatly different. Its wider to the right side and very thick (4mm). Haven't taking much out yet so no very specific details.
Edit: I just opened the shock bag (I always build them first) and I like what they did with the shock bodies. There is a ridge made into the shock that keeps the spring from touching the cap. I had threads strip on my kyosho caps before because the spring was always putting tention on the caps trying to push them off.

RE: When will we see the Losi 8ight???
I'm going to wait for the point series to finish first Chris . Even though its a Losi it still needs some testing and tuning on our track.
Oh yeah and the fuel tank has a "clunk" in it which is found in airplane fuel tanks. The fuel tubing runs through the side of the tank and has a filter on the end of it. So even if your upside down the clunk moves to the top of the tank so you never run out of fuel. There is a disadvantage to this... it wont suck up every last drop of fuel like a normal tank would.

RE: When will we see the Losi 8ight???
Mines together. Pretty straightforward.
More observations:
Not only is there a clunker in the tank, but ther elooks to be a piece of plastic that screws out or something, inside. I assume you take it out and it now holds more fuel.
The diffs are easy as pie to build, but getting to them maintenance wise is a little harder than most cars. If your the kind of person that does a lot of maintenance its going to cost you some time.
The center dif brake assembly is a pain in the ass. Its the only part of the car, that seems to be tough to really work on. Thats just my .02c. my mugen is a lot easier, but time will tell.
From the side, it seems ungodly low and tight. In the center settings there is TUNS of downtravel in the arms. The droop set screws are like 6mm or something huge.
The only thing I didnt like about the build was the center section. Placing the diff, the brakes (which are white carbon or something trick like that, and the rear is a LOT smaller than the front) took me almost 2 hours to build. I was going really slow but not _that_ slow.
I didnt have to midify any pieces to get them in. Overally, from a build standpoint, its an A- all the way.
I cant wait to drive it, but the rain here has nixed it for at least another week.
ciao
