Here are some pics of my Caster Racing ZX1-R with my Go .21 7-port I just got in. Hopefully will break it in tomorrow. These are some nice motors!
What do you guys think of putting the .21 7-port in a truggy? I do not like alot of torque and am a smooth driver. I went from a Picco .28 to a Axial .28RR and was alot faster with the axial because of how the power was put down. I know some guys are putting the 5-port in the truggy but think I would be happy with the 7-port. Opinions please.

i run the 7 port in my truggy now.... i had a five port but prefured the longer legs up top on the 7 port.... i hardly notice the difference in torque between the two... but our local track is quite open and flowing with a huge back strait

I have now the .21 5 port turbo for my XB808 but I want to get other engine for my Truggy XT8 what pipe would be great for the 7 port .21??
I am running the 086 pipe for the 5 port .21 engine now..

Hey guys, the OS P6 should be fine for the turbo 7 port right? It was the only hot plug the LHS had. It fits fine correct?

Well ill add my input ive had best luck tuning the 5 port turbo engine with the bottom end needle to get it in the ballpark i set the high end needle flush and tune the bottom end and give and take a bit out of the top and i get a perfect tune with temps around 230-250 ive been running it in my buggy and its a little too much on the bottom so im looking to go to the 7 port turbo for buggy and putting the 5 port in my truggy

Well, I put around 10 tanks through the 7 port today and a buddy has around 20 tanks through his and we're having identical problems. When we began to lean a little for a better tune we saw temps jump up around 300 degrees F! [>:] We then tried to fatten them up and find that we can get temps down around 230-240 but they run like crap. Way too rich. We both have years of expericence and have broken in many many engines and we're both stumped. I know they are tight, very tight engine but wow! Is this a common experience with GO engines? I've never had an engine want to run so hot. I'm not diggin' the high temps. I'm wondering if we both got a batch of the "bad carb" engines. My serial number is US0000624, and his is only about 6 down the line from mine. They have composite carbs. But anyway, I'm wondering what you all think.

what brand of temp gun are you using ???? most likely your gun is out of calibration and giving you false readings..... Next time you run the motor do the spit test on the cooling head, if the motor really is 300F the spit will vaporize almost instantly !!!!

We have 2 other temp guns confirming the temps. Another guy was running a SW .26 and it was reading around 215F the whole day. I actually did use the spit test but it took a few seconds to vaporize. Since my last post I've switched the carb out with my OS carb but haven't tried it yet. So I'll report back.

if it took a few seconds then its not 300F.......... 300F vaporizes instantly....
Another case of tuning by temps..motor is running great, good smoke trail yet people panic because a little Hobby Grade temp gun reads 300F.....chances are you are not 300F

the other thing that will spike a high temp with a go motor is a air leak.... just the smallest leak will cause it....have you sealed the motor??? also if there is still ALOT of pinch this will cause it too.... the added friction causes a high temp.... as a rough guide keep it rich and happy till you can turn the flywheel over with your finger... oh and check your head bolts.... ive had two turn up from factory with loose bolts.... let us know how you get on....

Ok, a little update. I threw on the carb from my old OS 21 VG and it cut the temps down a bunch. I let the GO rip up and down the street for a while and leaned it out to a decent tune. The highest temp I have yet to see is 262F. It's running fairly consistant around 230-240F. I think I found the culprit, but I'll continue to test it out and report back.

Just ran my .21 7-port today on the track for the first time today and WOW! The more I ran it throughout the day the more power it got and that was with the 7.5 carb restrictor in it too. I was using only a quarter throttle all day long with the my ZX1-R buggy and it was ripping! Temps were around 235-245 most of the day. Power delivery is very smooth the not abrupt. Easy to drive. My other friend ran his 2 NEW Go techs .28 6-port and .21 7-port and we had a blast all day long. Both of us went from OS .21 V-specs and Picco .28 and OS .21 VG and could not be happier making the switch.

Go engines will leak at the carb... the carb body will spring a leak at the seam between the composite body and the metal endbell... this requires a bead of JB weld to fix..
