Default Andrew Smolnik's Qualifying run at the RC PRO Finals

Here is a video of one of Andrew Smolnik's qualifying run with his CEN Matrix Pro 1/8th scale buggy.

This is a very clean run.

A mistake free run while running quick and consistant lap times is always the way to go. The track looked easy to stay consistant on... it didn't look like there was a single braking or acceleration bump in the track. I know I still would have made atleast one (probably more) mistake(s) anyway .

That was a good run, how'd he do in the Main? 3rd I think? Pretty dang good, especially for a CEN buggy! Nice work mr. smolnick.

I got to meet Andrew & Gene "The Machine" Hickerson at the Futaba Challenge in Bossier City and the entire CEN team were top notch racers and cool laid back guys. Props to the CEN team.

Tony,

Yeah when I first got to the track (before driving on it) I thought it looked easy... too easy.

There were a few things made it a bit harder than it looked. The drivers stand was rather far away and very high, making your car look like a mini out there. You could't hear your engine so if felt like driving an electric car. Judging the car if the far corners got rather difficult as well.

Plus it was 35degrees inside making your trigger finger a bit stiff...

Other than that the track was pretty easy with no traffic. ; )

Very fun however.

Andy you would be untouchable with a different car brother. Great patients in the traffic saved you on that run! Good work buddy.

chrpwrs , Tazer_version_A ,

Thanks guys! Gene uses the KMW Shocks, he likes them alot. I use the stock shocks.

I have not used them yet. They look very nice. Very smooth.

Gabe,

Thanks for the compliment.

Yeah I noticed in that far corner after the straight away it looked like you turned in way to early a few times which looked like a depth perception problem. From where the video was taken it looks like that corner is 2ft wide instead of about 10ft.

Andy,
I couldn't even hear the engines on the cars at all. That track was dope looking though. Sorry I couldn't go with you to the event. I'm sure if Notch and I were there you would have done even better. We were having a great time at ARC! The last 2 months I became NEO in the Matrix. The One...

Are you going to practice at all for the Best of the West race? I think you should come down a few times to get used to the layout and the dirt at Competition Hobbies (Revelations).
