well then if that TC3 is a joke...that RS4 is even more of a joke...LOL

anyways I appologize for being rude, I just dont think your speeds arevery acccurate, but on the flip side i do appreciate what your trying to do, and I wish you luck.... Hopefully one day you guys make it into an official speed challenge and bring home a trophy ! though I definitely question the accuracey of your speeds I mean you no ill will and I wish you luck in your adventures.... I find it interesting your running such high nitro % and it shows your definitely a hardcore, as that fuel aint cheap ! ..

What's hard about squeezing a trigger, turning down the dual rate on the steering... and running 132 feet in a straight line?
Whats hard about turing and jumping?

46U i agree with the radar gun error......but weve radared these buggy's hundreds and hundreds of times all those times CANT BE WRONG!!!!!

also the offical record was 134MPH (i think.......... i have the magasine in my car ill correct my self later if i was wrong) the un offical record was 160 something MPH and thats only becuase on the first pass HE DID DO 160MPH but on the second pass to confirm the speed the car glitched at 90MPH and whent str8 into a wall...........BYE BYE CAR!!!!! LOL also note that both of those speeds where by electric cars............worlds fastest OFFCIAL NITRO CAR is still 100 MPH..........but ive see the record broken many times............this year me and my friends will break those speeds SO LOOK OUT OF USE IN THE MAGAZINE!!!!

ALSO who else cant see the videos???
It is not an official Genies Book of World Records do to the fact they only accept speed traps readings. Do any pro racing use radar guns as an official way of measuring speed for a record? NO. Do not get me wrong, as what you guys are doing is neat if that is what you are in to but for a TRUE accurate recorded you have to have a speed trap. That is why next year at the speed challenge they are going to have a speed trap instead of a radar gun.

The guy that did the 112 is in the Genies Book of World Records as he uses a speed trap and the guy with the 136 or what ever did not and is not in the book as it is not official. Do not get be wrong the guy whit the 136 was faster but is not official until he backs it up with a speed trap run which I am sure he will do next year. I see people all the time on drag strips beating the records but they are not OFFIICIAL so all you have is bragging rights. I all so thought the fastest record for a nitro was 109 MPH.

Main thing is if you and your friends are having fun that is all that matters.

keeping a rhythm, not hitting the 5 cars equal to yours next to you. Fighting with different track conditions as they change throughout the day for starters...

If you're honestly going to say that driving in a straight line is just as hard as offroad racing, you're kidding yourself. I'll admit onroad racing is hard. Driving in a straight line isn't that hard. I drag race full scale cars, so don't go preaching.

As for these guys(thread starter) being the 'best' and holding their street record. What makes your buggies so special?, other than engine and gearing. Honestly....

It doesn't even look like you're trying to save weight on them(which is a simple effective way to go faster). If I were serious about trying to set a speed record, I would grind away at everything on the car, making it lighter and lighter. Sure it'll be weak, but going in a straight line on a huge road... Not as much of a chance of breaking.

I don't mean to be an ass, but it honestly looks like you took a badass rossi, and geared it taller than hell, and found a big road. Whoever it was who said it was just 'motor and gearing' was spot on. Unless I'm missing something? Your cars look like budget RTRs with big fast italian mills. I would like to hear differently honestly.

You're kidding right? It's pretty easy to go back and forth in an big empty parking lot or on a wide open street. As what_stanger said it's a whole other animal to find the right line around a track, how to hit a double or triple just right so as not to crash, compete with the 4 or 5 other drivers on the track and deal with the way a track's conditions may change throughout the day. Drive on track much?

I was making a point, drag racing is just as hard. Even on-road, Carpet mod has nothing on off-road buggy or truggy.

I wasn't going to get involved in the trolling going on in this thread, but now I have no choice. This statement (drag is as hard as track racing) is so wrong, I don't know where to start. Sorry, it had to be said.

I think they are coming from a driver error perspective.

- In Offroad there is plenty of room for error and still win or at least finish the race with vehicle intact.
- In drag there is no room for error, it will mean rollover or worse. either way you'll lose the race.

you also have to remember a road is a convex surface. which has no impact on full size vehicles. but will seriously affect an RC
making them more prone to drift toward the curb due to gravity. part of the reason that guy almost wiped out in the first video.

very true. (boltech)

Miamisfinest- As far as running a cheap buggy so when it breaks you can buy a new one, I can see that now that you say it. Good idea I suppose. Why not get a better buggy and grind down everything? Not just the chassis, but literally anything you can get away with. A arms, braces, center diff brace, bellcrank brace, etc etc etc etc etc.

Another thing, those spoked lookin' wheels are heavier than most I think. Get some ofna true lites, or search around and find an even lighter wheel. If you're as passionate as you say, you aught to be going crazy with it.

If you convert your mayhem to a turmoil pro, you should start off road racing a bit!

To MiamizFinest and all the Nitro dragsters I say I am impressed. Keep up the good work.
This is a hobby and we set the rules. You get off road racing, onroad racing and Nitro drags whick is the dedicated dragsters and then you get Nitro street drags.
I used to do this with real cars. Believe me it not as easy as it looks.
The drags you guys are doing is specialised and has its own challenges. Challenges that a buggy or on road racer does not have. I can believe you that keeping the damn car in a straight line at that speed musch be cery difficult. If you hit a high spot in the road the car goes airborn and could be a wreck in a split second.
So whoever is bashing the Miami street racers Please man. Respect what the guys are doing.
Its a pity where I am the interest for drags is not high. I have on many occasions thought of how fast can really go with a nitro car.
Beside I hate electric Toy cars. Lets beat the world record with Nitro Car. I'm with you guys.
Keep it up. And keep posting your results I will be following your results.

Buy a better buggy? at 82MPH there is no difference between a RTR and a pro buggy, they will be totalled in a crash. You can grind them down both the same. Would YOU use a $500 - $700 buggy for drag racing at that speed? hope your rich..

When its comes to what we are doing a more epensive buggy is not worth geting becuase we dont need PERFORMANCE from the suspention we just need a chassis lay out i em the only one that has a "BETTER" buggy i chose to run a sportwerks mayhem and i only chose that becuase the diffs are SO MUCH SMALLER comepared to those SHO'S (less rotating mass more speed) also id loe to cut up the arms also but im scared about how fragil the car would become..........maybe if we find a wider street or a street wit out rails id do it.....that way even if i loose control i dont hit anything and i dont destroy my car (give's me more room for error)

Also some one sayed sayed why not upgrade it to a turmoil and race at the track........GUESS WHAT!!!!!!! I DID AND I LOVE IT!!! since my track doesnt follow ROAR rules (so its pretty open class) i run a savage F4.1 motor in mine and belive it out not IVE WON A FEW RACES WITH IT (most people run HIGH END 21'S i em goin to also further down the line) check out a pic!!! the one with the ninja engine is the one i drag race!!!!

check out my black foam tires on my street racer......

supertib - WOW GREAT COMMENT........NOT..........ur such a fallower............

no jackass.
I'm not talking about suspension.

One buggy out of the box weighs less than the roller you've got. I'm saying if you're really trying to 'milk' everything, and go as fast as possible, this would be of concern. Weight matters. In full scale cars lbs really matter. In R/C grams really matter. If you start with a buggy that is extremely light to begin with, and the shave off here and there....its even lighter, right?

Now start with a tank like a mayhem, and you're already behind. Like I said it didn't look like you guys saved weight anywhere other than the chassis (which I was told of, didn't see for myself) Grind them down both the same? Didn't look like you guys did much.....shock towers look untouched. You've still got the plastic chassis mud/dirt guards on.....A arms could be ground away.....The front plastic 'bumper' probably could be taken off altogether....

My original point was, you guys just stuck a badass engine, and geared it.....one guy called you out on it, and you said there was more too it. Just doesn't look like it to me.

Also the wheels you've got on the one (thick spoked) are considerably more heavy than some other dish wheels I know of.

Also, if you're worried about ruining an expensive buggy in one crash, learn to drive a bit better. It won't happen as much
