****HELP PLEASE****
When I try to start the engine it dosent fire up at all. But when i take the glow plug out it then starts to turn over but as soon as i put it back in, it gets harder to turn over. What could be the problem? I have an infinity .27 on the buggy.
Thanks,
Johmel

RE: ****HELP PLEASE****
Remove your glow plug.
Turn your car upside down.
Crank the motor over a few times.
Any excess fuel should come out the glow plug hole.
Once you can crank the motor and no fuel comes out the glow plug hole put the plug back in and try to start the car.
If the engine was flooded you should see that the engine is much easier to crank after doing the above.

RE: ****HELP PLEASE****
how do you start the engine, pull start or the starter box? if you think it is flooded, take the glow plug out and turn it upside down and pull the pull start to turn the engine over and it will spit out the excess fuel. if you use the box, take the plug out and just bump it on the box a few times. ok, now to start it. loosen the glow plug by like half a turn, then try to start it. when the engine cranks up, tighten the glow plug back down and you're good to go. also, try a heat gun and get the temp up to 200 degrees and that will expand the sleeve and make it easier to turn over. hope this helps.

RE: ****HELP PLEASE****
I'd say its either flooding or the engine is about to seize up or something since you havent used it in a while. I have found with rotostarts its very hard to detect a flooded engine and because of this I have had similar instances where i would have trouble starting the engines due to flooding. After you removed the plug and got rid of any excess fuel flooding the engine, do not re-prime it. Just start it straight up as it should already have fuel to turn over. If its still not turning over when the engine was once running fine then there's definately something else wrong. Of course it could be the rotostarter itself as the internal gears are prone to failing resulting in it slipping and failing to turn the flywheel. But from description you give I still think its flooding because of the way it seems to over compressed.

yeah I do say its either the gears in the rotostarter unit itself or in the rotoback plate. I had a collari with a rotostart and it killed my starter pretty quickly which was rather annoying.

I am using a roto starter. would it be because t he battery isnt charged enough so it dosnet have enough power to turn it?? I can see the wheel turning but it isnt turning fast enough to make it start i dont think. and its not making the spittering noise either

RE: ****HELP PLEASE****
well yeah the battery has to be fully charged. It doesnt take long for the power to drop slightly and thats all thats needed for it not to turn the motor over. I was forever running out of battery power it got very annoying. The stock rotostart unit should however be powerful enough to turn it over. If its the gears that are slipping you can tell because the wand will just spin but the engine wont turn over. Unfortunately rotostarts whilst a convenient way to start your engine, they are terrible unreliable. I got rid of mine ages ago. Do not go back to a pullstart. Ideally what you want is a starter box.
