Does it spin when you push down without the buggy on it? Is the battery fully charged? I believe I had to charge mine for a good 12 or 14 hours the first time I used it.

make sure you have the flywheel and starter wheel lined up right and make sure the starter weel is not hitting the frame of the car. if it is then you will need to grind the frame so it dosen't hit.

yes the battery is full. the flywheel sits above the top of the starter box top that is before i press down on the top so when i set my buggy on the box before i press down the right rear side sit's off the top of the box. also i have the motor mounted sideways so basicly when i set my buggy on the box it sets width ways not long ways. how do you line up the engine and starter box?

The matrix flywheel is quite small. I replaced mine with a ofna 10054 or a 11054 cant remember the exact number. It is the same flywheel that comes on the violator , mutliator and ravenger.

no the problem is that your engine is smashing down on the bump wheel, putting too much load on the wheel, you barely want your flywheel touching the bump wheel, alighn it right.

Plus if you are using the same engine mount as before, they maybe too tall, for the flywheel to reach the box. Pullstart engine mounts set higher, than non pullstart mounts.

take the motor off, and sit the buggy on the box. move it around until the hole where the flywheel goes is lined up perfectly with the starter box wheel.

i don't think you put your engine on right if i read that correctely..from the way it sounds it's like how you'd put a 10th scale truck on a buggy bump box.

no can't get pictures ti'll monday. i'll try to explain better. ok when you look at the front on my buggy head on you are looking at the side of the box which means it is not sitting longways it is sitting sideway. does that make more sense.

well i switched it around and it still won't turn it over it just loads the motor in the box down. is it possible that this box does not have enought torque to turn my motor over?

1) HAnd crank your motor until your piston is at BDC
2) Set car on box and try to start.

Does the motor turn over at all???

If it doesnt flip your buggy over and check the area around the flywheel opening. Can you see where the wheel rubbed the chasis???

If the motor turns over a few times and then stops it sounds like the pinch is still quite tight on your motor. You however should be able to turn over about any motor with the chrome top box provided you make decent contact with the flywheel.

I had the exact same box as you do and I wasnt able to get the perfect alignment for my Matrix to the box. In turn I changed the flywheel as I stated above.
Several people say to cut the chasis but I didnt want to do this so I went with a slightly larger flywheel to allow the starter box to work.

Maybe this will help you out. This is what your starter wheel should look like at the chassis when you have your buggy properly lined up.

So either you have it lined up where the wheel is hitting your Chassis, The nut on the stater wheel is not tight enough or it is a new motor and you need to heat the motor up a bit so it will turn over. The 12V chrome top will pretty much start any motor around. But I do know from experiance that brand new motor after breaking 2 brand new RB S7 in that you have to heat them suckers up or the chrome top will not turn it over.

If the engine is already broken in, you deifnitely have an alignment problem. DO WHAT EVERYONE IS SAYING AND TAKE OUT THE MOTOR! So that you can see exactly where the rubber wheel is trying to contact the flywheel. The rubber wheel should appear in the flywheel hole in the chsasis, as the pic above. I'm abolutely sure that this is your problem. Also, maybe you still didn't add enough spacers. you should be able to push down on the box, and the starter motor starts spinning BEFORE the flywheel makes contact.

what they mean is, to take a hair dryer or a heat gun and heat the head of the engine, till its up to about 175F - 200F +

If the engine is broken in and the chrome top can't turn it over i doubt its becuase of the pinch. you need to take your engine out, and adjust it so everything is lined up and it looks like the picture a few posts up. Once youve done that with the motor still out push down and see if the start box wheel rubs again the chassis at all, it should if you lined it up correctly. If youve got it set-up correctly, get the motor back into the buggy, and check to see if the box will turn the motor over. If the starter box wheel runs against your engines flywheel, but doesnt turn it over make sure your battery is charged, the first tiem you charge these gel-cells they need to go for around 12-14 hours. If the box wheel doesnt even readh your flywheel then its becuase your engine still have pull-start mounts and is up to high. you need to get them replaced.
