RE: 20% vs. 30% nitro
i have a friend who went to a race with me one day ...he ran out of regular 30 percent fuel so he whipped out a gallon of cool power 30 percent heli fuel...i was skeptical at first but as the race day went on his engine got better and better...it smoked alot but seemed to have all its power and good temps in the 220 range...it kinda had me thinking.....

RE: 20% vs. 30% nitro
i run 25% in my motor and it runs really good so i dont see why i should change but if yous want to run 30% go for it, it may increase performance or decrease engine life but just use what you thinks best they are all good in my eyes i havnt tried 30% yet but from what ive heard 25% is enough.

i promise you that there is no drop in engine life, just gains in performance. the only engine life drop you could see is that it might bite the dirt a 1/4th of a gallon sooner.
nitro has nothing to do with engine life, its the oil type and oil percent that effects engine life..
grow some and get the 30%.
most ppl run 20% because of EFRA...
yeah I think 25% is the best compromise in turns of performance and engine life.

I'm speaking from experience when i say higher nitro content does not increase temps, on the contrary, it alows you to run with richer needle settings for similar performace as someone running lower nitro%.
The more fuel u have going through the engine the more efficient the cooling.

"i dont think any 1 has ever won a race on 20%.every 1 runs 30%thus run what the pros run"
NOT true
Before they sold Byrons 25% here I won a few races on 20% against guys running 30%. It's all in your left index finger (unless your left handed).

RE: 20% vs. 30% nitro
Most every high end race mill is designed to run (and generally runs better) on 25 or 30% - I tried 20% for about 1/2 gallon and then switched to TQ 30% and have never looked back. Cooler temps (with the same amount of power) - tuning is a little touchier, but is well worth it

What would you guys say to breaking an engine in with 20% and right after a gallon, switch to 30%? Is that better than breaking in with 30% from start?

None. They probably listened to bad advice online.
