Your not going to find somthing reliable for 300-400,your going to get it and not be satisified.
Plus if you actually get into racing you'll have to upgrade later.

The matrix looks very intrestin the only thing i was wondering is if the 75cc fuel tank creates a problem when your racing.

I would go with a used buggy over a Matrix any day. I know I couldn't finish a race on 75cc. I believe 125cc is standard for racing.

You could look at a TeamVTX VTX-B1. We are running a few at our track and the chassis is pretty good. The motor is ok, but won't last. The only thing bad about the RTR is the radio, but that is the case with a lot of them. Check with Steve at RC Nation (www.rc-nation.com) for a good price. Should go for under $300 for the RTR.

i can vouch that the matrix is pretty the best NIB buggy you can get under $400. the differences between the pro kit and the RTR are minuet. plus the radio that comes with it is probably the second best next to the Spektrums that come with Losi/Sportwerks.
If you need anyhelp getting it running good ill help as much as possible, as will other people on here.

RE: Looking for a good race buggy under 350?
Thanks guys for all the help but when i went into my LHS i went over all of the options for buggys and decided to go Truggy ( Dosent it always work differntly than you planned lol). I origonaly wanted a buggy but went truggy because of the track i want to race at dosent race buggys just truugy class. The guy that was helping me out went over all of the things i was concerned about and instead of talking me into some high priced truggy he sold me a VTX-ST1. The thing that amazed me was after he showed me the losi eight and the vtx the major upgrade the losi had on it compared to the vtx was the shocks.I couldnt believe it my self but for the price difference i couldnt pass it up. Once again thanks for the help

I would also look at vtx buggy. I have one and it's basically the same as a mugen but a cheaper version. It has decent power but the radio isn't that great. I use the servos but not the receiver or transmitter. I have about 2 gallons on mine and still running strong. i have the truggy also.

Yes this is a great truggy ive just broke it in and im already happy with it. The radio does suck and is cheap but the servos are good. But thats ok i figure i will pick up a spektrum radio latter in the year and i still will have less into the truck than a losi eight
