Default Off road motors Vs On road motors

Whats the difference between the two type of motors? I just bought a buggy that has an on road motor in it and just wondering if i should use it or sell it and get off road motor.

on road motors have lots of power in the high RPMs. that means that that the "full power" of the motor. with an off road motor it is more torque and has more HP to push you out of the corners.

that sums it up as easy as i can explain it.

Or put a more simple way....

The power band in an off road engine is lower down the rev range.

Off road engines generally have more low down torque.

Off road engines normally hae a lower RPM limit.

And On road engines don't like it off road.

Gear it lower and it should work fine.

The cooling heads are smaller and the motor will also run hotter because buggies don't reach the speeds onroad cars do.

There is no difference in the design between the two. Don't know who told you that but it's wrong.
The only difference is engine timing and cooling head.
