RE: !!!!!!Official Ofna Ravager Thread!!!!!!
I have a Ravager with .28 Force engine and currently building another buggy of the same platform and I am looking something stronger center diff or other possible options whenever I plan and need to replace it. Does anyone know what other diff can I can use that would be a direct fit for my Ravager ? I am not certain if the Kyosho, Mugen, Jammin or etc. would be a drop in.
Your help will be appreciated [&:]

the OFNA SUPER TORSEN DIFF !!! reduce the tire wear, increase porwer and traction and send more torque at tires...
i have this center diff in a ofna 9.5 with engine force .32 You really improves handling in curves ... The 4 tires have better grip
Greetings!

Ofna 10, it depends how much money you are willing to spend for an engine. Try to search so you will have an idea what other engines are available out there.

RE: !!!!!!Official Ofna Ravager Thread!!!!!!
Ya iv had mine for about six months now. And I can tell you this is one bad ***** buggy. The power the force 28 puts out is unreal.. Iv always been a small block fan. But this big block has changed my mind. After 8 gallons of fuel with no problems this motor still runs strong. I beat the he!! out of this buggy and still have not broke anthing.

RE: !!!!!!Official Ofna Ravager Thread!!!!!!
Anyone tried using different center diff for their ravagers ? How about center diffs for the Hyper 7, 8, 8.5's, will they fit in the stock 9.5 platform ? I know the hypers are made by Hobao but by judging the diffs and bearing locations of the center diff, they (hyper and 9.5's) looks identical.
How about the universal drive of the Hyper 8 or 8.5, will there be any clearance issues ? I notice that there is still a few millimeters of gap from the diff outdrives to the dog bones.
Any inputs ?

Allan I have never tried a diff from one of the other OFNA buggies but I would not spend the money to try, if you want a different type why not try out the Torsen? What are you looking to gain with one of the other diffs?

Well I installed a Jammin exhaust this week and took it to the track. Had a noticable power improvement easier to attack the jumps now!! Blew out the stock steer servo though, had to install a Hitec one and again muuuucchh better!! The buggy is much better all around now! Now I must work on my driving!!

Re: swapping Diffs. Hyper center diff will not fit on your Ravager.
PS. Torsen can give you some amazing bite coming out of corners.

RE: !!!!!!Official Ofna Ravager Thread!!!!!!
Thats what I thought of, 2 manufacturers have their own design, manufacturing, and materials consideration to maintain their cost. A torsen diff is a nice piece for racing, but I only bash and tune my diffs with different oil weights which is good enough for me.
I just thought of it as I noticed from one of the popular on-line auctions, there is a steady stream of Ofna parts of newer models, while the 9.5's are getting to be a bit scarce. By comparing parts for newer models like the 7's, 8's and 8.5's, X1-CR's and etc. (in this case diffs for 1/8th buggy) they look very similar in terms of size. There could be some differences in gear pitch size, bolt patterns and etc. So I raised this question if anyone have experience in interchanging these parts with another model.
Let me share to every one that I mounted a GS Racing's front knuckles on my Ravager last summer and it fits perfectly without clearance issues. I purchased this from my LHS for about 75% less compared to the Ravager's price, what a bargain ! So I kept these to be my back-up part. Maybe someone had an experience using a Kyosho knuckles for their ravager ?

RE: !!!!!!Official Ofna Ravager Thread!!!!!!
The last post was Devember 12, 2007, I guess it is time to move up to current date.
I was looking at the lightened spur gear of the duratrax raze and it came to my attention that this spur may work in an Ofna diff cup. I measured the mounting holes of the original Ravager and it measured 18 mm. bolt pattern. The Raze bolt pattern on the other hand measures the same distance as was informed by duratrax distribuor, therefore, it may perfectly fit the Ravager's diff case. I was considering to buy a Raze's lightened spur gear bacause of the cost hovering around US$ 13.00 while the Ofna's spur is at US$ 29 ++. Anyone tried swapping their spur gear into a Raze spur gear ?

RE: !!!!!!Official Ofna Ravager Thread!!!!!!
I just received my Ravager yesterday !! (Too bad it came with a blue body and not the red RCplannet.com showed in their page....)
I have a few questions and I'm sure I'll have many more in the near future.
1. Is there any adjustment I should do before using it the buggy (other than the engine break in)? I see certain servo links seem a little loose in their travel and both torsion (roll over) bars seem loose. In a real car either sitting on the ground or lifter the torsion bars always have some tension on them.
2. The set came with the Ofna .28 engine but I see the glow plug it brought was a Ofna .12 glow plug with two copper washers. Is this plug the correct one and should I use both washers? I already screwed in the plug, using the glow plug igniter, since it dint bring a tool for that, and it fit fine. I just want to make sure I'm not using the wrong plug or putting the heating coil too far from the piston.
3. Any carburetor adjustments I should be looking for?
4. I'm under the impression I should use the 20% nitro gas, any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Yes locktite all metal to metal screws before you even start it, or you will most likely have a short first day running the buggy. You only use one copper washer for the .28. No special adjustments just break it in properly and don't rush the process. I use O'Donnell 30% race blend, I usually run the same fuel for the break in that I will run for the life of the engine. Some people like to break in with 20% and switch to thirty after break-in.

RE: !!!!!!Official Ofna Ravager Thread!!!!!!
Thanks hrdcoreglf. The higher the % the higher the oil or nitro? So is one more powerful than the other?
So I should only use one washer on the plug? Ofna should print that somewhere! [>:] Is that a tip or how it should be? I dont want the piston to hit the plug. So the fact that the plug box sais .12 makes no diference?
